We started doing virtual sessions with Mary Huntsberry a little over a month ago and already the results have been REMARKABLE! Our dog was having huge problems with anxiety, including barking and lunging at people, frequently freaking out at the tv, and other "high-strung" behaviors. We had worked with more conventional trainers/obedience instructors and tried medications, with very modest results. After our first virtual session with Mary, she provided suggestions and routines that brought immediate results for our dog! After two virtual sessions, a new collar and some email correspondence, our boy is like an entirely new dog! He has been calmer, friendlier and more able to control. While he used to scare all the kids in the neighborhood, we now get questions on if it is the same dog or we got a new one! He will even let some people pet him! We can not thank Mary enough for everything she has done for our dog (and us!). Although he still has a bit to go, we have been thrilled with the results and how quickly he has improved and know that Mary is our partner in making our dog happy and healthy!

We adopted our beagle from a city rescue knowing she was reactive to other dogs, possibly from having been in a bad home situation where she was terrorized by another dog. Abby had been through several foster/adoptive homes and had been returned to the rescue organization several times because her reactivity made it impossible for her to live in a city environment. We made some progress with a trainer, but Abby was still completely out of control if she saw another dog (or a cat), no matter how far away. Today we are well on our way to having a much happier, controlled girl, all from the training we have received via Zoom with Mary! We honestly thought we would never see improvement, but Mary immediately offered us a whole range of suggestions to begin training Abby out of her extreme reactivity. We saw improvement immediately, and were able to work on training (human and dog) remotely, something that still amazes me. Mary is focused, direct, and has a vast knowledge of animal behavior. We never realized how much of Abby's behavior was fear-based, and this insight opened up a whole new understanding of our girl's problem. We have been able to progress to having Abby walk in the yard on the other side of a fence with a dog walking past the other way. This is huge!! Mary's rates are what you would expect from a seasoned professional, and are a bargain considering the wealth of information and training you get from each session. Best of all, she helps dog and human learn new behaviors, and then holds everyone accountable. We give Mary the highest recommendation!

I feel like Mary gave me my baby back!!! I have been meeting with Mary remotely via Zoom for just 2 sessions and my dog is a completely different dog. He had been aggressive, growling, snapping and charging at me for months. She understood his psychology right away and suggested simple home changes for me to help him not be so defensive. Almost overnight, after making the changes he is no longer aggressive and has been so sweet and chill. I'm so thankful, the sessions are worth every penny. I would recommend Mary to anyone. THANK YOU MARY!!

Mary has been great to work with remotely during the pandemic. We have a rescue dog who had been experiencing an escalation of separation anxiety-like behaviors that came to a head right as Maryland shut down in mid-March. Mary offered to work remotely with us, and while I was originally unsure how that would work out, it's been fantastic! She had us upload videos of his behavior while we were gone in various scenarios. She then used those to customize a training program, which she reviewed with us in an exhaustive Zoom conference. As we've worked our way through the program, she's been super responsive to my email questions, and we've checked in a few times by video conference as well. So you don't have to wait until the pandemic is over to start on your behavior work! I would highly recommend Helping Pets Behave.

Great experience during Zoom training. Kona has severe anxiety and all the tips and training we learned, calmed him down a bit. I use to dread walking him as he’s a pulled, but now we go on jogs together! Highly recommend
