Helping Pets Behave

I am so glad my vet recommended Mary. After just one session I saw a HUGE improvement in my dog’s reactivity. Mary was able to provide me with a personalized plan and the tools I needed in order to continue to train with my dog at home. She also responded quickly to any follow up questions I had between sessions. I was happy to find a program that aligned with my views on working with my anxious/reactive dog and love the confidence my dog found through this training process.

Mary was exactly what we needed to solve our issue with bringing in a new cat to our home. Maxwell is 14 and is accustomed to being an only cat. Jackson is a little over 1 now, but when we contacted Mary he was about 8 months old. Maxwell was...less than pleased...to have a brother. He started vocalizing during the night and was upset with having another cat in the house. When he wasn't yelling about his brother, he was engaging in staring contests with Jackson and we were concerned this behavior would escalate. Mary took the time to listen to us, to get to know both Maxwell and Jackson, and to find a solution that was workable and practical for us to implement. We started her suggestions immediately and within a couple of days, we saw major differences in the behavior and interactions between them. Maxwell stopped yelling in unhappiness every night, which was a relief, for him as well as us. I can't lie, part of us thought it was ridiculous that we were consulting a behaviorist for a "cat issue", but after connecting and working with Mary, not only was it the smartest decision we have ever made for our cats, but we have told others about how amazing our experience was. Amazingly enough, after listening to Mary and learning what Maxwell and Jackson needed from us in order for them to be happy, they are actually friends. They coexist, they sleep on the couch and they even play together, which is adorable and more than we were even hoping for, as we were just hoping for a resolution that allowed them to coexist. We never expected them to end up as kitty friends. Thank you, Mary!!!

I took my dog to Mary to help me with her aggression and over excitement around my newborn baby. My dog was inconsolable when I brought my son home. Mary conducted a very thorough review and devised a treatment plan for my dog. It was detailed and very thought out. We attended one in person training session at her facility (which was beautiful) where Mary explained not just how to train my dog in situations around my son, but also the behavior and why she acts the way she does, even down to the elevation of her heartbeat in stressful situations. She connected with my vet directly as well to start medication. I then had my homework to work on training at home and Mary was great in answering additional questions I had come up with after the training session. After 6 short weeks, my dog now loves my son and is able to calmly be around him with no issues. She even seems to love him now and watch over him like he’s her own pup. Mary is a miracle worker! I highly recommend her to anybody having issues with their dog.
