High Drive Dog Company

This is NOT a positive reinforcement training. If you want to ruin your relationship with your dog in order to have a completely submissive pet that fears you - this is the class for you! The trainer, Carly, is clearly a narcissist with no compassion for animals. Carly violently kicked our dog over and over again during a class demonstration, which was our breaking point to stop attending. Several others dropped out of the class within first two weeks, which should have been a bigger red flag to us. Her methods include inflicting physical pain (kicking, shoving, pulling/yanking) and emotional torment to dogs. Only posting this after meeting several others at petco who’s dogs, and themselves, have been scarred from this class. Don’t waste your time and money here.

Carly judges all previous training as not sufficient and expects all dogs to begin at square one with her (sit, down, stay, recall, heel, place) even if your dog is proficient - without considering or even assessing (offering to meet in person for an assessment of the dog and its current skills). The website and testimonies sounded great and matched the philosophy of the training I'd want to continue with my dog. Unfortunately, right off the bat when speaking on the phone, she pointed out the problems with my dog and their training without even meeting my dog. Judgemental and pretentious. It doesn't matter how long you've done something, or have expertise in the skill, you should always strive to LISTEN to other people and consider different contributing factors for each dog and their people. Not every situation is the same, as there is no cookie cutter dog training. Carly was pleased to tell me that I can seek training elsewhere, so I will.
