Highland Canine Training, LLC

We had the best experience with Highland Canine. Kelly was awesome at working with our reactive German Shepherd. She provided us with easy to follow instructions for correcting our dog’s reactivity and encouraged us along the way. Kelly was even willing to bring her own dog to our lessons to help us test our dog’s ability to socialize. We had the best experience and we plan to continue to work with highland canine for our other dog’s needs.

I highly recommend trainer Magdalena at Highland Training in Harmony, North Carolina. My husband and I have a miniature Aussie we want to train as a service dog for my husband, who has Alzheimer’s. Magdalena and her team have transformed this seven-week-old puppy from a hyper fur ball to a well-disciplined, responsive one-year-old trained dog. At Highland, every dog is assigned an apprentice trainer to work with their owner. There is no way we could have achieved on our own what was accomplished throughout George’s training. While each dog owner works with an apprentice, Magdalena is also actively observing and interacting with each owner and dog. We have had dogs as pets for over 50 years, but none went through training. I will never have another dog that is not trained, and I will definitely return to Highland training. I am, in fact, planning to follow up with SAR training at Highland so that George and I can find my husband should he wander off alone.

Meka ( my female gsd) finished the intermediate handler trainer SAR. It was very good group class. Then I decided I wanted to do private. Meka and I just finished scent discrimination Trailing. It was way more than I expected . We both improved over 100 %. I did not know what I did not know till I had a personal trainer walking with me each lesson explaining every little detail as Meka became more confident in her Trailing skills and I learned to read her and become the handler she needs.
