Although facts and feelings are vastly different... we understand your compassion for your dog as we share it as well. <br><br>Here are the facts. <br>1.Cash's condition was inflammation caused by him licking his feet. Contact dermatitis can be allergy or irritant related. As you told us that he has not experienced allergies to this point we can assume that an irritant was the cause. As listed in your vet records... it is almost impossible to know when, how or what your dog was exposed to that would cause them lick their paws. It could be caused by something as simple as fertilizer on your grass or a chemical product that spilled on your car floor. Allergies to grass or a pollen that is blooming. <br>2. As soon as we noticed him licking and causing severe inflammation, we contacted you to see if we could rinse it and apply a topical cream. You said yes and we did. This is all that we could do as we are not vets. But we did communicate it to you as soon as it became apparent. <br>3. We also talked to you about it again when you picked up. Cash was so excited to greet you and jumping around that you stated you didn't notice until hours later. <br>4. As soon as you sent us an email with only pictures and no body, we reached out to you and left you a voicemail to get an update and see how we could help. We were never called back. <br>5. When you emailed the second time and all times after that, we responded promptly, with compassion and understanding. We even made sure to give you clear communication of expected timeline of responses due to being out of the office. <br>6. Kodak was not observed limping while here. We never received vet records to review for him and although we believe you if you say he was... this makes it MORE likely that something that was at the home was the cause. Two dogs from the same home experiencing Contact Dermatitis with 18-22 others who stayed here during their boarding stay time not... likely puts the origin contact point being at home with it developing over time as Cash (and possibly Kodak if that was his diagnosis) was licking it. <br>7. We communicated with care and compassion in each email to you. you even acknowledged it yourself. Although our goal was to try to not only show you are support, but to partner with you in helping him and you through the healing process. Understanding how even though it can feel like a scary presentation/diagnosis, it is VERY common and treatable condition. As dogs age, they like us develop different allergies. They can come into contact with things that may not have irritated them in the past but don't now and vice versa. <br>8. You refused to speak with us on the phone directly to hear your side of where you thought we acted with neglect/lack of care stating that "we don't have anything more to discuss". We respected your wishes and sent you a small refund anyways to help out. <br>9. We could not predict or prevent this condition from developing in your dog in any way. We treated as best 18-22 dogs all stayed at the same time as your dogs with no other dogs experiencing issues. They walked the same paths, played in the same yards, had the same accommodations (including cleaners) as the other dogs that were here. We contacted most of the owners that stayed at that time and did not find anyone else that had anything remotely similar. <br><br>As a philosophy, we are the first ones to take accountability for things that we fail on, neglect and make mistakes on. It happens and we are human. This was not a case of that. Inspite of that, we still offered support and care in our emails, a small refund and wanted to talk further with you, but you refused. <br><br>The facts of the matter is that your dog has a condition that is very common and although looks and feels scary, is easily treated. We are sorry that you did not feel supported as a pet owner, but we did try. <br><br>As always, we wish nothing but the best for your family and we wish both boys comfort and health.
