We rescued a 4 year old, 95 pound chocolate lab from a shelter/foster. He was a sweet boy but had NO previous training. He would just about yank my arm off and drag me where ever he wanted. After Basic training #1 & #2 classes, we walk the neighborhood without incident. He has learned to come, sit, and stay on command. He still gets really excited in new surroundings, but has markedly improved. I highly recommend this program for anyone who needs help training their dogs.

I want to update my review because there’s recently been some trolls dolling out bogus 1-star reviews on this company. Don’t believe them. They haven’t received services. Since my original review Kat has helped us with our little ankle biter, and he’s now an excellent leash walker as well as behaving much better when people come to our home. If you know Max, he just loves people. The best thing Kat has taught me is that it’s just as important to train humans as it is the dogs. Thank you Kat!! You are the best there is! Hound’s Tooth Academy is a remarkable training facility!! Kat is an awesome trainer and has helped us out with our German Shepherd immensely. I love how she has taught me, above all else, how to advocate for my dog. I highly recommend her!

Kat Carter is truly a God-send in my life. She is hands-down the BEST trainer I have ever worked with. I have joked and called her "the dog whisperer", but it's really the truth. I had a mobility service dog until I lost her to sudden kidney failure on May 7, 2023. She had been by my side for almost 10 years. My son found her on the highway at 5 months old, scooped her up, and brought her home. She learned her name and to sit in less than 24 hours, so I quickly ascertained that she was very smart and eager to please. Knowing that I would need help with my son about to leave the nest, I had her evaluated by Kat who I knew through my job at the time. She told me that in addition to PTSD training, she also trained for mobility needs. Kat and I just clicked, and her method of training is incredible. It's enjoyable for both the client and the dog. My Lyla EXCELLED because of the training Kat did with her AND with me (& I thought I knew a few things about training dogs from my experience in my life!). Lyla was a challenge from the beginning, specifically with separation anxiety. It was like she knew she had a job to do and hated to be away from me. Kat never hesitated to be there for me any time I had a question or concern. She has gone above and beyond for me when I needed it, and I would do the same for her. Let me tell you, I live nearly 1.5 hours away from her and it was absolutely worth the drive every time! My Lyla and I were much more bonded because of Kat's training and her approach...and while there is a gaping hole in my heart still, I will work with Kat again when WE find the right dog for my needs.
