Hound's Tooth Academy For Dogs

I absolutely 100% recommend Hound’s Tooth Academy for Dogs. Kat Carter (owner/trainer) is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, experienced, and attentive to the needs of each and every attending handler(s) and their dog. This is not my first experience taking my dog for training with Kat. I previously brought my older Pomeranian for obedience training, Canine Good Citizen (CGC), and Therapy training. Every class I attend, I always pick up training tips/suggestions/advice that I either forgot or didn’t know, and I’ve been training my various dogs (multiple breeds) for over 30 years. I HIGHLY recommend taking your dog for training at Hound’s Tooth Academy For Dogs! You won’t be disappointed!

We got a Golden Doodle (Peaches) and wanted to make sure she has good manners as she will be part of our family and that is a requirement (lol). We called and set up a time with Kelsey to begin the process of training her while we were out of the country for a few weeks. (Peaches was 5 months when we left her). While we were gone she would send us a few pictures once in a while to know that our little Peach was doing well. Peaches looked happy and contented in the photos and it was great to see her during our trip. When we returned Kelsey met with us to review the training and followed up with a complete email summary of what we could do to keep her learning and growing in her abilities. After a couple of weeks, Kelsey came to our home to work through any issues we were having and talk through solutions to make it better. When she arrived you could tell Peaches had wonderful memories of her time with Kelsey since she was one big "wiggle" when Peaches saw her. Kelsey was also kind enough to help us find a good groomer and vet since it has been a while since we had a dog. Kelsey was wonderful and Peaches has been much easier to live with since her return home! She obtained a good foundation for us to bounce off of when we returned. I have texted Kelsey a few times to ask questions to make sure I am supporting the great training she gave and she has responded quickly to my questions with the input I have needed. I would highly recommend Hound's Tooth and Kelsey!

I cannot recommend Kat at Hound's Tooth Academy For Dogs enough! She is an extraordinary, down-to-earth lady in and out of the training scene. Not only does she understand and respect the needs of my nervous senior Aussie while training, she also helped me re-teach Karma that training was fun after a rough start with another trainer who was a little too harsh with their methods. Karma went from no longer wanting to train at all to ‘reminding me’ at dinner time when it was time to work! She’s eager to train now and I have Kat to thank for it! We've learned so much, including obedience and tricks! I love seeing the excitement in both of my pups when they see Kat in class.
