HSSPV Dog Behavior & Training is a program of the Humane Society of the South Platte Valley offering 6-week dog training classes for the community. Our science-based, consent-driven methods focus on positive reinforcement to build trust, communication, and a stronger bond between you and your dog.
We offer puppy classes, basic manners, leash walking skills, impulse control, and real-world distraction training to help dogs and their families succeed both at home and out in public. Our goal is to give you the tools and confidence to enjoy a lifetime of freedom and connection with your dog.

We recently adopted a dog from the humane society of the South Platte Valley & couldn't be more impressed with the staff and especially Jenna the trainer. She is simply AMAZING!!!!! Not only does our dog LOVE her but my husband & I do as well. There is not a question or scenario that she can't help us with. I have had dog's my whole life and thought I knew what to do....I'm learning on how to be a better dog parent because of her!!!!!!! We are currently in our 2nd class because we need more training and wouldn't want to go anywhere else!!!!

We love the training classes at the Humane Society of the South Platte Valley! We appreciate that they only use positive reinforcement training and that the classes are very affordable. Vera has learned so much and these classes have really helped with her reactivity and confidence. The trainer is very knowledgeable and is great at answering any questions so that we can practice what we learn in class at home (which also is a great way to get some mental stimulation for Vera). Thank you so much for providing these classes to the public!
