Hunter Canine Dog Training

I’m forever grateful for all of the support and guidance with our German shepherd, Reyna, that Hunter and his team have provided to us over the past year. Reyna went for a 4 week live and train with Hunter to remediate her severe reactivity to other dogs. Before her training, it was impossible to have her anywhere near other dogs. Even at a distance, her extreme reactions - barking, lunging, etc - would leave me feeling unsafe, embarrassed, and fearing for the next encounter. After spending time with Hunter and his team, Reyna was able to overcome these issues and be around other dogs in close proximity with no issues- something I never thought would be possible before we started. I can now confidently enjoy taking her anywhere without the constant anxiety of whether or not she will see another dog. In addition to the live and train, we have attended group classes, done training and boarding with Taylor, and feel completely supported with any questions/ concerns that may arise. Both Hunter and Taylor made me feel like Reyna was one of their own, and continue to provide top notch care and expertise. I couldn’t recommend them more - truly a game changer and the most worthwhile investment for our whole family.

After rescuing our dog Murphy in 2022, starting to work with Hunter in 2023 was the best decision we made for her and for us. Hunter created a personalized training regimen tailored to all of our needs and worked with us in a way that created lasting change. Prior to a planned vacation we booked a 4 week Live And Train for our pittie mix, Ruby. We had adopted her from a rescue 4 years prior, just before the pandemic. Just as we began a training program the pandemic hit and it was cancelled. In the interim, her super excitability began to change to reactivity and aggression toward people and animals walking on the street during our walks and car rides. Then I got injured in a car accident and after that, I really could not safely walk her due to her lunging, spinning and snarling. We had tried every kind of leash, collar, harness, and restraint, but it didn't matter the second Ruby got triggered at the sight of another dog, cat, rabbit or squirrel, as well as runners and kids on bikes. Our quality of life, and hers, was on a rapid decline: During Ruby's Live And Train, Alyssa first worked on decompressing Ruby and establishing a trusting relationship, She slowly reintroduced Ruby's triggers to her, and trained her with an e-collar and prong collar. She worked with her to associate these tools with very good things using treats and attention. Alyssa taught Ruby better leash manners—I can finally walk her! We are still working on her reactivity to dogs when walking. It's espectialnhlntnyttt ttbt hard on narrow trails and around our block duringyntt busy dog walking times. Time too book our second follow-up home visit! Overall, we wish we had been able to do this program sooner,. It was so helpful when Hunter added financing options for Live And Train.
