IBSO K9

My family picked up an English Mastiff puppy in fall 2025. We started training with Joe shortly thereafter knowing our puppy would quickly grow into a 200+ pound adult. Our initial goals were simple: stay calm while we answered the door, walk on a leash without pulling, and be reasonably well behaved in a campground environment. The training far exceeded our expectations and we were able to expand our goals. Our dog is a pleasure to walk and take camping. Joe also helped with training equipment recommendations and a set of portable steps for our dog to get in and out of a SUV safely. We’ll continue with the Off Leash Control class. The training has been a great investment and we are very thankful for Joe’s expertise.

We have a yellow lab who at a few months old was showing aggression and scary behavior. This went on for a few months from time to time, but as time went on it became more frequent. We were scared our yellow lab was going to hurt us or someone else. I talked to the vet and we had been referred to Joe. Let me tell you that was the best thing that could have ever happened! Since day one of training we have noticed a huge difference in our yellow lab for the better. We actually have gotten many compliments about how good our dog is now. Joe is patient and very personable. Joe worked really well with Delilah (our yellow lab) showing us what I could be doing better to get the best result. Now I actually like walking Delilah. Joe allowed my mother and father in law to come along so we can all be on the same page with training which we really thought was great. We all think very highly of Joe and certainly learned a lot. If your looking for training he’s the person to go to. I know I will be referring him to everyone in the future.

Joe has a tremendous awareness and comprehension of the dog. His presence and confidence is seen immediately in the way dogs respond to him. I have been training with IBSO K9 and Joe for over 5 years. I was recommended to contact Joe when I was looking for a trainer for my German Shepherd. My husband and I had always had 2 German Shepherds and one had to be put to sleep. My remaining Shepherd needed some training and I had worked with other trainers and did not receive the results I wanted. Joe was willing to come to my house and work with issues I was having on my property and I also went to his facility. We were also interested in a local reputable breeder to get another German Shepherd. Soon after, Joe and Lindsay had a litter with only males and I was interested in a female. I hesitated and then decided on one of their males, which was the best decision I could have ever made. My Thor is wonderful. Joe and Lindsay both care about your dog and you. I found that I was the one who needed more training than Thor. I am still learning. I began training for the dog sport and Thor has received his IGP 1 and 2 with the great training I have experienced with Joe as a fabulous trainer and Helper, and the support and assistance of his wife, Lindsay. I am so grateful to them for all their guidance and mastery of the dog sport and patience with me. I look forward to their continued guidance as Thor and I progress.
