Which training plan is more effective?
Both training plans are very effective; it all just depends on how involved in the training you would like to be. Private training you’re involved in the entire training process and day training we take care of most of the training process for you. Then at pick up we will show you what we have done.

How old does my dog have to be to start training?
We can start in home Private dog training at anytime. If you wanted to do any in facility training with your pup. They must be at least 4 months of age!

What training methods do you use?
We are balanced trainers so we use all four quadrants of Operant Conditioning (positive reinforcement, positive punishment, negative reinforcement, and negative punishment.) and Classical Conditioning (a process that involves creating an association between a naturally existing stimulus and a previously neutral one). We start with the least invasive methods and only go more invasive as needed and with owner approval.

I want to give a shout out to Alison at K9 Academy. We have a Mini-doodle puppy named Dottie that has way too much energy and way too smart. We needed help in a big way. Alison helped us gain some control and verbal commands to help make Dottie a lot happier and help make our life a lot better with her. We've gained some control over her major excitement and she is so much more loving and calmer with the knowledge that she has gained and especially what we have gained. I highly recommend K9 Academy and especially their trainer Alison. Dottie loved her and got excited to see her each session we took her.
Allison worked very well with our puppy, Disco. We are very satisfied with what Disco (a Toy Poodle) learned at Idaho K9 Academy. We recommend!!

Janet is a phenomenal trainer. Our pup Gus loves her to death. She has done such a wonderful job with him. She is so knowledgeable and has a way with Gus. We will go to her and recommend Janet to anyone needing K9 training. Any dog we have or get in the future we will only go to Janet..
