FirstBarkRobert was amazing to work with. He listened to our concerns and what we needed him to work on with Jasmine, and he did that. The training was a total of 5 weeks and by time graduation came she had mastered leash walking, sitting, stay in place, and more. We can’t thank Idaho K9 Academy more!

Which training plan is more effective?
Both training plans are very effective; it all just depends on how involved in the training you would like to be. Private training you’re involved in the entire training process and day training we take care of most of the training process for you. Then at pick up we will show you what we have done.

How old does my dog have to be to start training?
We can start in home Private dog training at anytime. If you wanted to do any in facility training with your pup. They must be at least 4 months of age!

What training methods do you use?
We are balanced trainers so we use all four quadrants of Operant Conditioning (positive reinforcement, positive punishment, negative reinforcement, and negative punishment.) and Classical Conditioning (a process that involves creating an association between a naturally existing stimulus and a previously neutral one). We start with the least invasive methods and only go more invasive as needed and with owner approval.

We LOVED Robert, he did an amazing job! My dog learned so much from him and absolutely adored him! This has been our second dog we have brought back to him. We recommend him to everyone!
We were impressed with Moonpie’s results from the very first class. And she seemed to really enjoy being there.
Robert is a phenomenal trainer who takes the time to get to know you and your dog. Our golden retriever, Lucky, loved going to training and was excited to see him each week. I will continue to recommend him for any training and look forward to working with him in the future!
Robert and the team at K9 Academy were excellent - they helped our 3 year old Vizsla, learn how to sit, stay, come, and heel. We thought there was no hope and that he was too old to learn - he graduated and even got a certificate for his Graduation! He came home the first day with major improvement.
