He helped us by showing us how to read Bear‘s body language and how to react to it, giving us the right tools to be successful. Bear literally is a different dog. Your family and dog will absolutely benefit from Rick’s training. We have used other dog trainers in the past and none were as knowledgeable as Rick. We were immediately impressed in his ability to assess our dog’s behavior and develop a personalized training experience. After our first training lesson we went home with new tools which we worked on all week until our next class. Our pup’s behavior quickly modified towards the improvements we hoped for. After several more classes, our dog has transformed into the family dog we had hoped for. We highly recommended Rick and Impactful Canine Training to anyone wanting better behavior from their dog.

We brought our 1 year old working line GSD to him after struggling with reactivity and lack of impulse control/overall confidence. Our pup was exposed to agitation work far too early from a previous trainer, and it just created a bunch of problems down the line. Rick is extremely knowledgeable, and understands how frustrating and disheartening it can be sometimes when you’re dealing with a reactive pup. We are so thankful for all of his support, and we have seen such amazing progress in our dog since we started with him. He’s given us the tools to continue to strengthen the bond we have with our girl and to help her grow into the dog we know she can be!

It is immediately obvious how much Rick loves dogs and enjoys training them. He is knowledgeable and extremely patient. I took my 6 month old Lucy to train with him. One great thing about training with Rick is that he has his dogs on site. He can use them as distraction during training or for play breaks too. I would highly recommend Rick. I encourage you to go meet him and his girls.

Rick is amazing! He speaks dog (& human). He showed me how to bond with my dog, a dumped stray whom I had become ferarful of & frustrated with. Rick uses multiple techniques to engage and assess dog & owner. He figures out what motivation can be used to encourage behavior & for my dog treats are not always needed. Rick taught me engaged play, my movements, touching techniques & talk can all be useful motivators. I became stronger & more encouraged to understand, guide & cohabitate with my dog. Amazed, I watched Rick work with my dog & without words get her to respond to what he wanted her to do. He brought me hope!!
I was at the end of my rope after working with another trainer who used only treats that my dog was allergic to resulting in uncontrolled diarrhea & vet visit. Rick listens! and creatively showed me alternatives to treats. His methods work! Listen to Rick. He will help strengthen your relationship with your new best friend. Attached are pictures of ‘Lovebug’. She looks me in the eye now. Took months to achieve that connection. Wished I found Rick first!
