How do you properly thank a dog trainer? There were several scenarios of Oliver’s behavior that were less than desirable. At home, with me, he was perfectly fine and as behaved as I needed him to be. But he was still a lot to handle. I couldn’t safely walk him, as the only mode he knew was GO. He’s 70lbs of muscle. He could have torn away at any moment if he wanted. Therefore, our exercise was confined to the yard. He was way too excited meeting anyone new and would jump up and take a really long time to calm down and become manageable. The neighbor's dog also gets out constantly. He runs along my back fence line and Oliver becomes fixated, lunging at the fence. He could jump it if he wanted to and realized it and he would not stop when called. The combination of no leash skills, barrier reactivity and no recall made it so we never left the house. He wasn’t “safe” and ultimately that means I wasn’t safe. I researched, I asked, I read reviews, I contemplated, I weighed the pros and cons and I asked God for a little guidance. My dogs are all I’ve got, so I didn’t want to make the wrong decision on where he went. He is a rescue dog, neglected the first portion of his life and then basically raised in an overcrowded shelter until I adopted him. Traumatizing him by sending him away was always a fear I had. I kept being led back to Brandon and Indy’s Top Dog. Something in my gut just kept gnawing at me that this was where he was supposed to go. I couldn’t be more satisfied. This was absolutely the right decision for every conceivable reason. From the communication, the thoroughness of the training systems, the regular updates, and most importantly, the results. Brandon even kept Oliver longer than initially planned because he cared about making sure he was fully prepared. Nothing was rushed and proper care and results were always the top priority and I knew that. I don’t have a different dog, I have the most improved version of MY dog thanks to Brandon. Oliver is still the same sweet, gentle, sensitive, loving, cuddly dog that left. But in the first 5 minutes of our 2 hour go-home meeting I knew that life was going to be so much better for him and for me. Brandon took the time to make sure I was properly trained on all the included equipment that Oliver came home with. He made sure Oliver would respond properly to my direction and that I knew how to lead him in order to continue his progress. Brandon was also incredibly responsive in the days following Oliver's return as I had a lot of questions to make sure I was doing what I needed as the owner to not cause him to regress. Within a few days of coming home, I took him to a pet friendly photos with Santa vendor fundraiser and he performed beautifully. I questioned the investment in the beginning. But with each video update I received while he was away the real investment became more clear. I didn’t just buy training. I bought peace of mind. I bought safety for myself and all my dogs. I bought quality of life for me and for Oliver. I bought freedom to live life the way I want for myself and my animals. I bought pride in my dog’s behavior. It’s hard to put a price tag on those things, but if I had to try, it would be exponentially more than the cost of “training.” The best decision I have made after rescuing Oliver was sending him to Indy’s Top Dog and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

My husband and I struggled with our dog Teller with behavioral problems, aggression, and listening. The only command he would follow (most of the time) was sit. Indy Top Dog is absolutely amazing. Brandon is extremely knowledgeable, helpful, reliable and a great teacher! I could not be more proud and excited for our dog’s progress with his training. Our dog went from being extremely fearful and nervous of new people (mostly males), dogs, and situations to gaining confidence in himself and having tools to guide him through any situation. Brandon took the time for our dog to accommodate to his new surroundings and then implemented the training when appropriate. Our dog is a totally different dog when it comes to his old fears. We are able to have new people/ dogs around, go on walks without pulling/ barking, be in new settings without him tucking his tail, shaking or barking. Brandon made teaching and training look easy! He spent two hours with us at our “go home” training to ensure all questions answered and that our dog was acclimated to our home.
