Instinct Dog Behavior & Training, New Jersey and Philadelphia

My vet recommended I call Meg Byrne at Instinct Dog Training in Englewood, NJ, after my two dogs got into a fight with each other. Meg worked with my dogs right in my own home and taught me the tools I needed to avoid any future incidents. I'm happy to report my dogs are doing well together. Without Meg's training, I feel we may have had to re-home one of our dogs. I would absolutely recommend Meg for all types of training! I have also boarded my dogs at Instinct and had a great experience.

We are incredibly grateful to have found Meg for our dog training needs. From the moment we started working with her, it was clear she is professional, thoughtful, and incredibly talented. We affectionately call her the "dog whisperer." We adopted an 8-week-old puppy who was extremely fearful and anxious. Our puppy was too scared to attend a puppy class at the local shelter, so they recommended we try Instinct, where we met Meg. She has truly been a lifesaver. Meg's approach to dogs is nothing short of amazing. She taught us practical and realistic training methods. She also taught us to better understand our dog’s emotional well-being. As well as how to read and understand his physical cues, that we didn’t even realize he was showing us. We have come to realize he is innately an anxious dog- came out of the box that way. But with Meg’s help we have learned how to manage his anxiety, reduce the stress an anxious dog can create for a family, learn and manage his triggers and most importantly give him a happy life. We just adopted another dog and will work with Meg again. Additionally, Meg is always available if we have any questions, which has been incredibly reassuring. We highly recommend her to anyone in need of a dog trainer.

We wanted to try the boarding training camp for our older reactive dog, Rosie. Sadly she was too anxious for that program but there was an in-home training option so we opted for that. We worked with Meg Byrne and she was simply the best. If you work with her then you just got real lucky, period. Meg gave super clear explanations about why our dog was or wasn't doing something and why Rosie might be reacting to a certain situation. When it came time for us to practice, Meg was a great teacher to us as well as our dog and everything felt a lot clearer after we had our session together. Even if we had questions outside of our session Meg was always there to help.
