Intelligent Canine

Miranda and her team of trainers have done amazing things for our two dogs, who were (and are still a work in progress but improving day by day!) very reactive and one with severe separation anxiety. The Intelligent Canine team provides professional service, structured programs for dog skill improvement, fun classes, and genuinely cares so much about our dogs and all dogs with their adoption program.

We love our dog, our dog loves Intelligent Canine, and Miranda. (Finally, a professional, he says.) Dog immersion, socialization, training. Win, win, win. We've been attending classes, and Bart has been to day training sessions numerous times over the last four months. My husband kindly calls it 'sit school'. Which is a response to the great behavior Bart exhibits while on walks: when we stop, he sits, when he's confronted with a distraction, he sits and looks at us. Bart is always happy to go to IC, and sometimes is reluctant to leave. He loves all the people and the opportunities.

Through its caring and savvy team of employees, Intelligent Canine provides professional care, excellent training, and a perfect environment for boarding. Miranda (the owner) could be called "The Dog Whisperer" because she is SO wise about dog training that it is absolutely transformative. For one example: This past fall, we were heartbroken to realize that we probably would have to get rid of our 12-week old Golden Retriever puppy because she was annoying / puppy-biting / torturing our 12-YEAR old (elderly) Golden Retriever. After ten days of trying to acclimate the puppy to our home, and our elderly Golden to the puppy, the two dogs would have NOTHING to do with each other. There was even growling and baring of teeth! But then. After just ONE day of puppy training at Intelligent Canine (7:30AM - 5:30PM), the two dogs settled into a calm truce ... sleeping just about two inches away from each other. After TWO days of puppy training, our dogs were playing tug with a rope and keep away with a tennis ball. AND they started snuggling together for sleep (as we always imagined they would want to do). We could not have been happier or more grateful! Oh--and Intelligent Canine is SUPER strict about vaccinations and only allowing healthy dogs to take a class / board there, etc. Their prices are very reasonable---and their educational model of having "graduates"/alumni (i.e., older, well-behaved dogs) training the younger dogs makes total sense. Intelligent Canine provides the best training and the best boarding in all of Billings! I completely recommend them and I am so glad we found them. Thank you, Intelligent Canine!!
