About Intelligent K9 Dog Training
Teaching family dog obedience, great listening, and great manners is what we do! There is no reason for any dog owner to put up with unwanted behaviors. Letting unwanted behaviors and even mild annoyances go unchecked leads to stress and resentment. That’s not why we get dogs! We get dogs because we want more enjoyment out of life and we want to share that enjoyment with our companion. To give our dog the best life possible, they need to be education on how to listen to you and on the basic rules and boundaries of life. That way, they have great manners, no nuisance behaviors, and are enjoyable to be around. In our Richmond-based training, we teach and train the dog’s owner so you can develop the right knowledge and skills.

When I first got my dog he was a small, crazy puppy that had so much energy I couldn't control him. I desperately needed help, because my dog would not listen to me! After hours of research, I came across Intelligent k9 and decided to give them a call. I went with them because they said everything I needed to hear. The training I needed wasn't just to teach my dog to sit and lay down, but to train them in distractions of the outside world. This is why Intelligent k9 and CJ, in particular, was such an excellent match for me. They helped me so much, and CJ was always available to answer questions if I ever needed him. My dog is still the best behaved at the dog park and other areas. Having a dog is a lot of work, but CJ will help you and even though it takes the time it is very much worth it. Look past the money, it is so important to have a well-behaved dog, and besides, you can use the training you learned on future dogs.
Nothing but great things to say about Intelligent K9! We had such an amazing experience. Our puppy loki an 8 month old German shepherd is so well behaved its insane. So professional and friendly. They kept in touch and follow ups were great. They even help me at 9pm with a training question. They are rockstars!!!

Our dog Murphy is a large German Shepherd and although very friendly he was aggressive towards other dogs and sometimes people. He was difficult to walk and control in public places such as a park. He also liked to chew everything from our Granddaughter's toys to plants in the yard, this drove my wife crazy. We were referred to CJ & Sarah at Intelligent K9 Dog Training and met with CJ for a consultation. We were immediately impressed with CJ's experience and professionalism. We signed Murphy up for the Boot Camp. It was difficult for me (not so much my wife) to leave Murphy for the camp but they took excellent care of him and sent frequent pictures and videos of progress. Murphy was a completely different dog when we got him back, very responsive and obedient. My wife is much more fond of him now that he is not chewing anything up, I really enjoy walking him to the park without any pull or aggression when he sees people or dogs. He is also very good about walking directly beside me, sitting on command and staying in place if needed. CJ has continued several follow up visits to help me understand how to properly work with Murphy, this has been a huge help! My wife thinks Murphy is a whole new dog, I agree! We rated Intelligent K9 Dog Training 5 stars without any hesitation, it is great to be able to enjoy our dog without fear of where we can or can't take him. Thank you CJ & Sarah, great job!!

Our 5 year old Yorkie Terrier (Maxwell) had habits of barking through the windows at people passing our home and pulling on the leash when on walks. CJ and the crew at Intelligent K9 were able to simplify the training techniques to where it made sense. CJ was patient and thorough with the education that our little guy needed and we now have the tools in order to maintain the techniques. We are now able to work with our dog to keep a quieter household and less embarrassing walks around town. Maxwell is happy and we are happy that we reached out to the Intelligent K9 team. Their top quality training and techniques are effective!
