J & K Canine Academy Inc.

So I debated for a while about posting this review, but decided I needed to so that no one else has to put their pets through what mine went through. My wife and I boarded our 3 yr old Ridgeback/ Blackmouth Cur mix at J&K because we had been getting training from Pepe. Our dog has an issue with fear aggression, so when we were told that trainers would work with him while he was being boarded we thought that it was the ideal situation. We dropped him off the Thursday before Labor Day as we were going out of town. Labor Day Monday we return and I go to pick him up because we missed our boy. Upon arrival I was walked to the back to find my dog curled up in the corner of his kennel slot, the entirety of the kennel covered in urine. All of his toys, his blankets and especially our dog. It took him a solid 60 seconds to even come up to me, and he was exceptionally tentative and nervous until he was close enough to sniff me and recognize me. The tech gathered his items as I walked him to the front. I asked why he was in the state he was in, and the tech informed me that there were no trainers working that weekend. I asked why weren't informed of this and drop off and didn't get an answer. When I went to pay she told me a price $40 less than we were quoted, which I chalked up to no training happening. I took Kiba home and had to bathe him twice to get the urine out of his fur. We called and my wife spoke with Pepe's daughter who I guess manages the facility. She was dismissive and began trying to gaslight us that it was our fault Kiba was treated the way he was. They then demanded we pay them the other $40. It took almost 6 weeks before Kiba's personality returned to somewhat normal. We will never take a pet there and honestly feel like the facility needs to be investigated. Be very careful leaving your pets here.
