Jackie's Basics and Beyond Dog Training

I can not say enough about how much I love bringing my dog to Jackie's every week. Our trainer, Lynn, has given me and my 3 year old corgi a whole new, MUCH BETTER, form of communication. We've gone through the beginner and intermediate classes thus far and even friends and family have noticed a difference in my dogs behavior. She is even more relaxed because we're not struggling as much to understand what she needs. I am so thankful I came across Jackie's training when I did and I plan on continuing to go for as long as I can!

My dog Lily and I trained for 9 months with Lynn Williams. We started with Puppy Class and continued all the way through Therapy Class. Lily is now a Certified Therapy Dog! We couldn’t have done it without Lynn’s knowledge and expertise . I have another dog who needed private lessons as she did not want to cooperate with training within a group class. I was amazed with how my dog Violet took to Lynn and now follows commands with ease. Most importantly Lynn has given me the tools to follow up with the training outside of the classroom.

I’ve been taking dog training for nearly 25 years with probably 8-10 different dogs and multiple breeds. Puppy classes, obedience, rally, therapy dog, and agility. It’s definitely a passion and hobby of mine. I was driving to Wilmington a couple of times a week for training until I found Jackie’s Basics and Beyond Dog Training. Our primary trainer is Lynn Williams who is extremely experienced and her patience is unsurpassed! Her teaching style is hands on, she treats the dogs (and humans) in class with respect, she has a terrific sense of humor, and if you have a specific issue with your pup she will find a way to help. I started with a new Border Collie puppy at Jackie’s and have progressed in about a year to where I am attending AKC trials, and Lynn is now working with my 6 year old German Shepherd. (You can teach an old dog new tricks.). For me it’s not about the competition; but my love for attending training is to be even closer to my dogs and they look forward to being in class. Lynn provides the catalyst to attend training every week! Training humans to train their dogs is a difficult job. I find Jackie and her staff to be exceptional and caring professionals.
