Jackie's Basics and Beyond Dog Training

This place is great at marketing to humans. However, not so great for dogs. After the first class, my puppy seem to be a shell of herself and terrified of me. The second time we were in a class and saw the trainer a puppy in a dark bathroom for misbehaving. Also, during that second class we were interrupted by a woman and young men who were rearranging our classroom for 10 minutes with not even an acknowledgment of the disruption. One of the last straws for us was when unprovoked and across town, we met a stranger who claimed to work as a dog trainer, who had a surprisingly large number of students from this school who needed extra training for aggression. Our trainer at Jacki’s said that dogs should be seen and not heard, no affection, no socializing (puppies), etc. Since we’ve left, my pup has gotten awards, accolades, and bonded with me much better. Edited after the business left a response to this review. There was one other client in the class with my pup and I. We met up a few times outside of class. They claimed that they also dropped out. Our pups spent three hours in training rooms together over three weeks yet didn’t meet until we connected outside of class. Social skills are important for young pups to develop yet these two were taught to be strangers by the Jackie’s trainer.
