Shelby, our goldendoodle completed foundational training with another program. We realized that she had the perfect temperament and potential to become a therapy dog, but we were unsure where to go to receive this specialized training. While researching dog training schools, a friend recommended Jackie’s Wag ‘N Train. After our initial consultation, I knew immediately that JWNT would be a perfect fit for our training goals. Not only does Jackie instruct using positive reinforcement methods, she is also very active in the local chapter of Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs! Team Shelby jumped right into training with focus work and fine-tuning her loose-leash walking. Jackie encouraged us to drop-in to extra classes to sharpen Shelby’s skills with unfamiliar dogs present. We were invited to participate in community events with JWNT, such as the Barktoberfest fundraiser to benefit local pet rescue groups, and demonstrations at schools through the Great American Teach-In. Shelby and I also participate in a local Run Club for exercise and socialization with other members and dogs. We are all family at JWNT. The classes are fun and rewarding for both the trainers and the dogs, and we look forward to attending class each week. I am happy to share that, as a student at JWNT, our pup not only earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen certification, but also recently passed the Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dog certification test! We can’t thank Jackie enough for helping us reach our training goals and we look forward to more training, community events and therapy visits in the future.
