Jane Trains

Jane is remarkable at what she does. Her approach is so effective and quite fascinating. She uses positive reinforcement which I loved. I brought my dog Finn in for a 6 course training program. Finn came from Stray hearts and by all accounts lived on the streets prior to that. He is a great dane/pyrenees mix, so quite large. But has the mind of a puppy. Luckily Finn is extremely sweet and very receptive to training. My biggest issue was his size. Pulling on the leash, jumping on visitors and counter surfing. Jane taught us the art of calming down an exciting situation, bringing his focus to me. She taught him good behavior is rewarded and he got it! This experience has bonded Finn and I even more and gives him the opportunity to make the right decisions. Honestly it was a game changer in our lives. Everyone can live in harmony and all based on positivity! Thank you Jane - You are the best

Jane's 6 week training course is amazing. My dog Nika was kicked out of a doggie daycare/boarding facility in Colorado because she bit another dog and the owner of the facility labeled Nika as "aggressive". I was shocked, scared, and very sad. I knew Nika to be a sweet, very smart dog. So when I got back to Taos, I contacted Jane who did a behavioral assessment and Nika did not show any aggression to other dogs during the assessment, but Nika is sensitive and can be fearful when she gets into unfamiliar situations. By the end of our 6 week course, Nika was a different dog. Happy, confident and I was a happy and much more confident owner. I have to say I needed training as much, if not more, than Nika. Jane showed me what to look for in Nika's behavior and body language and then step-by-step we incorporated Jane's training method into our training sessions at home.. All positive reinforcement and both Nika and I looked forward to learning something new each week. I am now excited to sign up my other dog, a young Bernese Mountain Dog, for Jane's course. I highly recommend Jane and her approach to dog training. If I could give 10 stars, I would! Thank you Jane!

I am a 77 year old man, and I recently got a blue heeler (Aussie cattle dog) puppy. I have had other heelers and lots of dogs, horses, llamas etc. Heelers are noted for high energy, but this dog is the wildest of the wild. After a couple of months, I realized I could not control this dog. A made a hard decision to give her up to a shelter. But first I decided to check for dog trainers in my area, I found Janetrains, in Taos NM. I took Mikaela, my dog, to Jane for a first lesson. Jane had me sit over in a corner, and in one hour, Jane had mikaela being attentive to her, sitting and lying down on command. I was blown away, for the first time I saw the light in a very dark tunnel. Jane has a 6 week program 1 hour a week for 6 weeks. I signed up, and even though Mikaela has a long way to go. I am very confident, Jane will get us there. She has taught me a lot about handling a dog. If you have a dog that needs a bit of work or a complete make over, I would take her to Jane. Thankfully I did.
