🌟 Jax Dog Drop Riverdog: A Pawsitively Wonderful Experience! 🌟 I can’t say enough about this place! From the moment I stepped through the door, I knew my furry friend was in excellent hands. Lizzy at Jax Dog Drop Riverdog pays attention to every single detail, ensuring that our beloved pets receive top-notch care. I can’t thank you enough for the kind customer service. I will definitely be returning.

We gave Jax Dog Drop in Issaquah a shot after the boarding facility we loved closed down after Covid. Unfortunately, it was a waste of time and was a very negative experience for my senior dog. I have a mother and son pair of standard poodles who have attended multiple doggie daycares, boarding facilities, groomers, and dog parks in several states. My senior female poodle is canine good citizen trained, has been to doggie daycares before, is well socialized, has raised a litter of puppies, “adopted” stray kittens under two weeks old, frequents dog parks, is well trained and fully socialized, was rejected within 20 minutes of a “trial day” due to “aggressive behavior.” When asked to clarify over the phone, my husband was told that she growled and barred her teeth at other dogs. When he went to pick them up immediately, he was not offered any further explanation than, “sorry it didn’t work out.” He noted that they did not bring them from a designated room labeled “Seniors.” I have several issues here. Not a single daycare, veterinarian, groomer, dog park play date, or kitten has ever referred to my girl as aggressive. It is important to note that growling and barring teeth (absent lunging, snapping, biting) is not necessarily aggressive behavior in dogs so much as communication regarding boundaries. Even then, this is not a common behavior at all for her. The only conclusion I can reach in this situation is that the staff took a visibly distressed senior dog and threw her into a room with over a dozen younger, unfamiliar dogs who did not respect her space. Anyone educated in dog behavior would have introduced the new dogs slowly, in an adjacent area with a physical barrier such as a chain link fence until they adapted to the new smells, sounds, and presence of the established pack. If they determined that she was not a good fit for that particular group the staff should have escorted her to the designated senior group to get more accurate “trial” results there, or at least to allow a shaking, terrified old girl a moment to collect herself. This whole “trial day” concept becomes more ridiculous considering boarded dogs are supposed have their own family suite. So an older dog should be allowed to opt out of an overstimulating room full of rambunctious youngsters anyway. Our experience left a lot to be desired in the knowledge and competency of the staff. I would not recommend this facility.

Tylie at Jax is amazing! From Puppy 101 to Training Camp she has been so fun to work with. As first time dog parents we were a bit lost and she was patient and understanding throughout. You can tell that this isn't just a job for her but that she loves dogs and wants them to thrive. She doesn't follow a one size fits all mentality and really strives to teach to the dogs personality. I would highly recommend Jax and Tylie for your puppy training needs!
