Jill trained my dog a few years back. He was a very large, and strong willed dog. He still is both, however he does exactly what he was trained to do and we are a perfect team. Jill has a lot of experience in her specialty. She understands dog behavior, and like children, no dog is alike in personality and behavior. She works with the handler to identify the end goal (what the dog is being trained for). Unlike training from a big box store (lack of a better term), Jill figures out what will work best for each dog... It's not one size fits all. I am concerned about another review I read and feel this needs to be addressed. There is a review on here suggesting inhumane methods of training due to the time it takes Jill to train a dog. First, the person who made this suggestion has NOT had their dog trained by Jill. I can promise there is nothing inhumane in Jill's process. Instead of looking at the time training as a few days, think of it in hours. Training elsewhere is 1-2 hours a week, in a classroom setting where there's multiple dogs and handlers with one instructor. This can take weeks, months, etc. Jill works with one dog and handler at a time. This is why she is so efficient. Each handler and dog have her undevided attention. She is working with the dog and handler all day during training. This seems long, but when you're working with Jill it goes quickly. So to sum it up, 3 days at 8 hours a day is 24 hours... However the amount hours training is variable and depends on the amount of work needed for the dog and handler to be successful. 2 months of training in classes, 1-2 hours a week is 8-16 hours. My dog loved the training. He Was stubborn when it came to Jill handling him on leash but like I said earlier, she understands behaviors and quickly figured out my dogs behavior patterns. Jill worked with my dog and in a very short time he was obeying her commands. He wanted to please her. It's not just training the dog. Jill also trains the handler. She works close with the handlers because different lifestyles and different needs of the handler calls for different goals and training. She explains what she's doing and why she's doing it every step of the way. She makes sure the handler completely understands their dog which is why the dog and handler become a very successful team. Before she even meets the dog or handler she is asking questions to figure out a training plan for the individual team. The other part I want to address is cost. The review that also suggested Jill charges too much. Jill charges based on the information she receives from the handler in regards to how much trading the team needs. For example, if the handler had been successful working with their dog in basic obedience and leash manners, Jill can focus on the tasks the dog needs to learn. Dogs like mine, who were wild on leash and stubborn take more time, effort, and patience. In cases like mine Jill has to establish basic obedience training first before moving forward and teaching the dog tasks. The cost seems like a lot to chew but remember a few things. You get what you pay for, she wants you and your dog to be successful, and you will not find someone so knowledgeable and experienced for the amount she charges.
