Jim Hodges Dog Training

We took our 8 month old German Shepherd to Jim Hodges for training after reading the reviews on his training program as well as looking at some of the actual training videos that he had posted on his site. Ava was a very active 8 month old with all of the jumping and puppy biting that most puppies have but everything we did to try to correct it had only made it worse. I was very impressed the day that we took her to Jim and he demonstrated some of the training methods he used and explained why Ava was acting like she was. We left Ava with Jim for the two week in house training and I was hoping to get her back without the jumping and biting but I couldn't believe how much Jim was able to accomplish in just two weeks. She had all the basic commands sit, stay, place etc. as well as no jumping and biting so we can now bring her inside with us. Jim was very patient with us as he answered our questions and trained us to be able to continue what he had already in place. Jim is available to answer questions after you go home and to help you if you have problems. I would recommend Jim for whatever type of training that your dog needs. You won't be disappointed.

Jim did a fantastic job with my GSD. It was like bringing home a new dog. The change I saw in her was great. I looked at many other dog trainers before calling Jim and I’m glad I made the phone call before making my mind up. Jim called me back and answered my E-mails along with my questions, in a timely fashion. After talking to Jim I know I can always call or go to him for help, if needed. WELL WORTH THE MONEY. Thank you Jim for all you have done with my dog, and putting me in place to grow with my dog. I would not write this if I didn’t mean it!

Jim did a great job training our German shepherd. It has been over a year and the German shepherd has responded well to Jim's training. I only wish we'd had the dog trained sooner! Our German shepherd is a great dog but had never been properly trained by someone like Jim. The difference after the dog was trained by Jim were and are amazing. The instructions that we received from Jim have been very helpful and you can tell he loves working with dogs. He includes a video of him working with your dog and explaining commands that is very helpful. We highly recommend him to anyone that wants/needs their dog trained.

Jim is a wonderful instructor and knows dog behaviors extremely well.He has over twenty years of experience and it shows in the results we saw with our dog. Our dog, Blue, while a loving and energetic member of our family, had real issues with dominance and socializing properly with other people outside our family unit and sometime with other dogs. Jim made me and my husband aware, that a dog like Blue, wanted and needed a pack leader to take control, especially when he was in strange surroundings, acting out of fear and anxiety. Two weeks in Jim's capable hands (as well as his NCSU graduate, daughter to assist him) made all the difference in establishing the correct order in our family pack...Blue now being 4th in the pack, behind the family cat! His attention to making certain WE (the humans) got the confidence and understanding we needed, sets him apart, I believe from other training options. For those considering an intensive training option for your family dog, I highly recommend Jim Hodges Dog Training. Don't be deterred by the expense...you get what you pay for: a calm household, a well mannered dog you can feel confident taking in public places without issue. You will be in control, NOT the family pet. This is peace of mind you cannot receive from Pet Store chain stores.
