John K9 Dog Training, Boarding, and Daycare

My husband and I were going on our first major vacation since we rescued my sweet but highly reactive German Shepherd Homer (August 2022) and since we'd be gone for 11 days, I researched and went all over Central Florida looking for the perfect place for him and his "dog brother" Pringle (who is also working through reactivity, but he's a cute Corgi, so no one overreacts when he goes nuts). We hit some snags, and were about to give up and cancel our trip, when we were referred to John K9. My Homer lost his ever loving mind the first time we met John. Even though my boy kept barking up a storm and lunged like his life depended on it, John didn't shame us or try to make us feel like we were doing anything wrong - he was patient, kind, and completely transparent with what his facility could provide. I fell in love instantly with the facility, from the pool to the beautiful grounds, to the play area - everything was so well thought out, and you can tell John and his staff have poured their heart and soul into their work. Admittedly, I am crazy and I had to have multiple trials to feel like my boys would settle and enjoy themselves. Each time, every single handler that met us was kind, patient, and gave Homer his space to settle and relax, as opposed to other facilities that seem to be rougher at intake. We received honest feedback each time we requested it, and we received pictures every other day or so of our boys enjoying their time. What absolutely sealed the deal and has me praising John K9 to high heaven is how my boys reacted when we picked them up from our trip. Homer had a particularly rough intake for the long stay, and went back to lunging and barking and being unable to settle. When we picked them up, they were so relaxed and well behaved. As we were exiting, we ran into one of the handlers that was at that rough intake, and Homer's tail went WILD. He was so happy to see his new friend, and when the handler said goodbye to him, he practically dragged me to go say bye! My boy is particular, ESPECIALLY with men, and to see him showing love to anyone outside of our family had me crying happy tears on the ride home. I could never thank you all enough. If you have a fur baby that needs more patience, love, and structure than other boarders/training facilities, please come meet John and his staff. They are truly one in a million.

John K9 is the best! I did a lot of research and did consults with multiple trainers hoping to find the right fit for our dog. We sat down with John and he hit all the boxes for hs. He was honest, set realistic expectations, and followed through. Our trainer Ash was FANTASTIC. We have a brand new dog because of John and Ash. This facility has exceeded our expectations in not only training but boarding. We know Duke is in good hands at all times. They offer a lifetime garauntee so any hurdle or concern we've had post training - they've helped us work through. Ash even went as far as fivint us home visits and coming with us to the Vet to help with his vaccinations because he has a real hard time. I can not recommend John k9 training enough. And HUGE shoutout to Ash who started as our dog trainer and grew to be a great family friend.
