Joseph's Obedience Training

I have been watching my husband and our very active Border Collie progress through the training at Joseph's Obedience Training school for well over a year now. We have learned important tools for managing a dog that was bred for constant motion. The weekly courses are increasingly challenging (for both hubby and dog) with plenty of helpful hints and feedback from the owners and other staff. I am not the handler so I just observe - it's fun to do something completely different to our regular routines. Teaching our dog how to focus on tasks and listen to commands has been incredibly important to all of us because he knows exactly what we are asking of him. This kind of training isn't just about having fun - it could literally save his life. When he gets his tie-out wrapped around a tree in the yard he knows how to get free after following the commands we repeated until he was able to untangle himself. If he bolts after a bunny he will immediately halt when we command him to stop and always comes right back to us. Last and most important point - when we pull into the road that takes us to class our dog gets so excited - he knows he's going to class and can't wait to great his friends. It's adorable. The ride home is always very calm and quiet 🐾😊🐾

We have been bringing our Springer Spaniel to Joseph’s since she was a puppy. We first did the Canine Good Citizen class. The instructor was very knowledgeable and sympathetic to our concerns Our puppy was very active yet nervous around other dogs. The class really helped. We then started taking Agility classes. Our instructor Lori is fantastic. In the 2.5 years we have been training with her our pup has progressed from a complete novice all the way to competing at the Master Level. Lori is great at helping us figure out what our dog is thinking and how to teach her what we need her to do. It is a completely positive trading process and our dog loves doing agility and is so happy to go to class every week. I cannot recommend Joseph’s enough!

This place is the best! I’ve taken my dog through Puppy classes, Obedience and have been doing Agility, Agility workshop, and Nose Work. Every instructor has been top notch and super helpful. They have really helped me have a well behaved dog and I believe the agility and nose work classes have not only strengthened the bond with my dog, but it’s made him a confident dog that enjoys interacting with other humans and dogs.You won’t be disappointed!
