I have a neighbor that just lost her beloved pet. She's deaf and looking for a new companion. Do you help with that or have info on what she can do?
She could apply for a career change dog. They are dogs that are trained but for one reason or other can not be a service dog. Although we will not have any career change dogs until next year but the sooner she gets in an application the better.

How much do you have to fundraise before getting your mobility service dog?
We don't ask that you fundraise, our dogs are $9875.00 once that is paid you are in line for a dog.

It isn't a matter of fundraising, you need to contact Joy's of living and discuss costs. There are scholarships available too. You can search the web for them.

Great program for the inmates. Loved petting the dogs
I currently am Training with Joy and my dog at Joys of Living Assistant Dogs. I could not be more pleased with the support Joy St Peter and her staff have offered since we have joined their program. I highly recommend others to reach out and choose Joys of Living Assistant Dogs. Donations accepted. Socialized always needed.

Not impressed with the prices disabled folks have to pay for these dogs when they have "almost" free labor training the dogs. If you read one of their responses they basically admit that's how they keep costs down but they don't come out and say we have inmates training dogs for you for less than $200 a month. In the US we consider that slave labor, other countries not so much either way. Even if the dog was trained for a year straight that'd be $2400. I'd pay that for a well trained dog but thirty thousand dollars? JLAD has the state prisons training your dogs for pennies on the dollar then charges you the taxpayer premium for a dog they didnt train and a job someone else couldve had in public, just so everyone knows.
Priced so far out of any average person's budget, let alone someone on disability.
