K-9 Defense

Best place to take your dog! We were nervous at first but they quickly put our minds at ease and after 6 weeks did phenomenal work with our girl. We couldn't be happier with the results we've seen, especially with the level of knowledge and care from the trainers. Our girl still feels like our girl but with much better listening and obedience skills, we were speechless the first time we saw our puppy in action. When it came to talking with the trainers, no matter who we talked to at the facility we were impressed by their kindness and honesty every step of the way. No matter which member of the team we worked with or spoke to, you can tell the team is passionate about what they do. Thank you, K9 Defense, for the wonderful difference you've made in our lives, as well as the dogs you train to serve and protect the valley.

I am beyond impressed with this place and the staff. I have a very reactive and unconfident German Shepherd puppy. She was around 8 mos old when she entered the 6 week academy. I was told her reactivity and lack of confidence is a genetic issue. If she even saw a dog 100 yards from her, she would lose her mind. She also constantly barked at people.. even my parents who she’s met 10+ times. She would flip and jump and scream and bark, and I had no clue what to do. I knew if we didn’t get this straightened out, she would run our life. We wouldn’t be able to have people watch her when we went out of town or even just bring her in public and go on hikes. We can now take her everywhere with us. The most important thing is to continue training beyond the Academy. Mallory met with us for weeks in a row once Kona came home to continue training and help with the transition. Mallory knows what she is talking about and put all my fears at ease. She has been working with dogs for years and has several of her own. Also shout out to Chris, the owner. You have a wonderful establishment and I would highly recommend this placeto any dog owner with a dog of any age or breed. I wasted so many hours on YouTube trying to figure out what to do about my reactive puppy. K9 defense gave us our life back!

I got a dog through K9 Defense and continue training with them. Dan is training me to maximize my dogs potential in work and to have a great companion/pet I can bring into every environment. The whole team of trainers are available to help with questions between sessions. I love the dog I got through them and all the amazing instruction available by professionals that are so knowledgable and also a boatload of fun!

After an exploratory session with three reputable trainers, we happened to spot the K9 Defense van and decided to give them a call. From the first evaluation, Chris took the time to explain their philosophy and even demonstrated one of his pups in action. It was immediately clear that they truly understand how to work with both people and dogs to achieve great results. Over months of training—primarily with Mallory, but also with Wes, Chris, and George—we not only trained our dogs but also learned how to consistently follow their program and build a strong relationship with each pup. Rather than opting for a board-and-train program, we chose to be hands-on, and their guidance made all the difference. Despite not being professional handlers/trainers, like many of their clients, we gained an incredible amount of knowledge and a deep respect for their expertise in teaching both dogs and people. The team was always supportive and continues to be a valuable resource whenever we have questions. Beyond that, they’re simply a great group of people. The result? Two well-trained rescue pups, a strong bond with our dogs, and problem-solving skills we couldn’t have gained anywhere else. K9 Defense is truly at the top of the game, and I highly recommend them to anyone serious about their dogs.
