Keep it Simple Stupid (K.I.S.S.) Dog Training provides private, positive reinforcement-based dog training in clients’ homes throughout the Kansas City metro. Owner and sole trainer Mike Deathe, CPDT-KA, has trained professionally since 2008 and founded K.I.S.S. Dog Training in 2010 with the mission “Training Owners, Not Dogs.” Mike helps owners address puppy behavior, manners, leash walking, reactivity, fear, anxiety, aggression and other behavioral concerns where they actually occur. K.I.S.S. does not use prong collars, choke chains or electronic shock collars. Pricing, policies, methods, expectations and the training process are clearly explained so clients can make an informed decision before moving forward.

I've had two dogs go through the Diamonds in the Rough class. The unique style of Mike's classes as well as the level format (while it sounds complicated at first) is really lifestyle friendly and allows us to work through problems that may not arise in a traditional 8 week class. An additional benefit that I hadn't initially considered was that I got the chance to know my peers and their dogs better and developed friendships from that! It's fantastic!!!

For people who own dogs, and want to have a happier relationship with their pets, Mike is a miracle worker. When it comes to helping grow a happy relationship between dogs and their owners, Mike is a dog trainer extraordinaire and I'm happy to say I know him.

Mike is awesome - he never gave up on us! He has made a world of difference with our rescue/shelter dog, and she is much better behaved now! He really goes the extra mile, truly loves and understands dogs (and people), and we recommend him highly!

Mike is an awesome trainer. He was there for us from the very beginning. He helped us select the right breed, taught us how to keep the dog peeing outside, (read the book of Pee and Poop written by Mike), how to crate train, and much more. We couldn't be happier. Everyone should be so lucky to have a great trainer. When you select Mike and you, and your furry friend, will be much happier!

Mike is terrific! He has a great way of interacting with dogs and their owners. We felt comfortable with Mike and trusted his advice. With just a couple of sessions, we've seen great improvement in how our dogs respond to outsiders. His website and blog are great resources!
