K9 Citizens Club

We had such a great experience with Marcus at K9 Citizens Club! He came highly recommended by friends once we got our puppy and were ready to start training! Marcus came to our home to evaluate and give us package options and pricing. We chose to have 4 sessions to start. We received a full notebook of information and at the end of each session we were given a customized summary of the commands and notes written for us. Very thorough, very detailed! These training sessions were done in our home which is VERY helpful and very convenient! Marcus is kind, patient, experienced, and pretty much a dog whisperer! He let us video his training so we could reference and also encouraged us to video ourselves so we could see our own progress and where we might need to correct. Our puppy, Finley, fell in love with him!!! Two of our sessions included his "dog guru", Ninja. These were extremely helpful as it brought a whole new level of training! One of these guru trainings was a "real life" scenario in Home Depot - meeting people, walking around, practicing our commands like "walk", "sit", "stay", "place", "come" and desensitizing our pup from distractions and noises. Such a great way to have our final day with Marcus and Ninja!

K9Citizens Club was recommended to us, and we are so glad we called them! We have 2 dogs, a miniature dachshund and a lab/Australian shepherd mix. We needed them to learn manners. Marcus came to our house to meet them and was immediately a calming influence. Don't get me wrong, it is not magic, but Marcus taught us how to get the most out of what we were learning. We signed up for 6 lessons and saw pretty immediate improvement. The last two lessons were at Landa Park and Lowes, and I must admit I was a bit apprehensive about how they would behave in public. They were absolutely amazing!! They did not bark at anyone and followed our lead both times, calmly walking on leash. Don't get me wrong, we have to keep working with them because, as we learned, consistency is key. But we are so happy with their results. The proof came today when I discovered that the dachshund had dug under the fence and was in the vacant lot next door. I had visions of chasing her through the neighborhood, but when I went into the front yard and said "Molly, come" she immediately came running straight to me!! Thank you, Marcus, for everything you taught both us and the pups!!

We had an excellent experience working with Marcus and his team of dogs. Our 5-year-old Golden Retriever was struggling when we decided to add a Golden Retriever puppy to our family, and Marcus helped us introduce them in a calm and thoughtful way that didn’t create stress for our older dog. They are now best friends. At the same time, Marcus worked on obedience training with our new puppy and provided a helpful refresher for our older dog. Most importantly, he helped one of our dogs overcome social anxiety and reactivity after we had unsuccessful experiences with other trainers. By our final training session, our dog was able to remain calm while walking through a busy farmers market filled with dogs, people, and other distractions. Marcus is very versatile in his training approach and was always patient and kind while working with both us and our dogs. We are very grateful for his help and highly recommend K9 Citizens Club.

Words cannot express how grateful we are for the excellent training that Marcus provided for us and our 3 dogs. We had a 5-year-old rescue dog that was never trained but she was sweet and easy and other than being a little excitable we didn’t really seem to need any extra help. Then we added 2 male Shih Tzu puppies that were 3 months old when we got them, and our lives became very chaotic. They seemed to get wilder as each month passed, and even our other dog’s behavior deteriorated. My mother and I are both older, and we seriously questioned if we had made a mistake adding them to our family. When people would visit, we would have to bring them inside through the garage because of the chaos that would unfold at the front door. Marcus came in and provided us with so much help and support for all 3 dogs. He has been patient, positive, and kind to us and all of the dogs. The dogs all love training days and are so excited when he comes. He taught us techniques that were doable and left written notes with every visit that we could refer to in between training visits. We had to put in time to work with the dogs, but Marcus broke it down into steps that we had the knowledge and ability to implement. We have learned to put them and have them stay at a place, walk beside us, come when we call, and generally listen to our commands. We have great dogs now, instead of them having us. Guests that came before training are amazed at their progress. We are able to enjoy the dogs, and the training Marcus provided has made a huge difference in our lives. We feel equipped to tackle any new challenges because of the knowledge he gave us. We can’t say enough positive things about our whole experience. I’m so glad we took that step to reach out for help with Marcus and K9 Citizens Club!
