K9 Control Training

I took my golden retriever here 3 years ago. I regret not leaving a review sooner. I had a bad experience with this facility. When I picked up my dog, she was extremely under weight. She hadn’t been eating properly. She is a picky eater to begin with, so it wasn’t a lack of them feeding her, they just didn’t notify me she had lost a significant amount of weight. The shock collar’s they give the dogs are all vibrate and shock, no beep. Felt a bit extreme. My dogs biggest issues were barking at other dogs on the leash, very reactive. I did not see improve on this. Everything they taught her really is stuff I could teach her at the house with a shock collar. They don’t do training outside of their facility, like in public areas. Maybe this has changed. I still regret bringing her here.

K9 Control performed a miracle. My dog Thea was anxious, aggressive, did not listen and would always run away if given the chance. After 4 weeks I was given back a completely new (upgraded) dog. Thea can now be walked/biked/ran off leash, doesn’t chase squirrels, and listens intently. She is comfortable around people and other dogs and no longer has anxiety. I recommend K9 control training to everyone.

Cori was an incredible trainer for Bear. He learned so many things! No more jumping up on people, no pulling when walking and not distracted by other dogs when walking. I say sit he does, stays until the dogs or people walk by and I say with me and he gets up and we walk. I can put him in down and he stays. I can walk out of the room, but he will not get up until I come back. Amazing! I went off for double back surgery Bear went off for training. We are making a great team. Cori showed him lots of love and good training. I would highly recommend K9 Control Training.

*edit in response* I’d be happy to discuss the matter with you offline - we made it very clear when we picked her up that we were extremely dissatisfied. Her name was Pepper. The intent of my review was to share our experience with your training approach so others would know what to expect. This review is years-late but I felt I needed to share our experience. Our rescue dog (with anxiety and a disabled leg) needed some general obedience training and leash reactivity help, so we signed her up for the 4 week program. After 2 weeks, we stopped receiving updates on her progress and condition and texts went unanswered. Something instinctual told us we needed to intervene. We picked her up two weeks early to find that she had lost 10 pounds, she had lacerations on her neck and legs, her eyes were bloodshot, and her bed had been taken away because she urinated on it - which meant she was sleeping on concrete with a metal-fused elbow. She was a physical and emotional wreck for weeks. I would not recommend this business to anyone and would give zero stars if I could. The methods used to train dogs at this facility are unkind and inhumane.

We used k9 control 9 years ago with our american staffishord, I wasnt going to allow a breed type to sterityped along with untrained behavior. It was the best investment not only for our dog to be trained. But for a seamless life for our family. Having a well trained dog creates less chaos, a calmer dog and an understanding of expectations. We love having full recall, the ability to tell her place and she goes to her closest bed, which leads to no jumping on visitors no begging at the table, whichnis amazing. The ability to go out with her to places and have her settle at your feet, is amazing. Not to kention the off leash walking, she still does better off leash than on, lol. Love this company have recommended it for years as the best investment we ever did for our family. And will never have another dog that doesn't have that level of training. We are about to send the new puppy back and I have no doubt it will be as good as last time!!! Don't hesitate.
