K9 Intuition Dog Training

Stephano and his team helped us make a huge transformation in our dogs. My girlfriend and I each got a dog in college and we were probably not prepared enough for that responsibility, so our dogs had developed bad habits. They had poor house manners, pulled us around the neighborhood on walks, and were defiant of us. We had tried training through books, big chains like PetsMart, and even other local trainers. Fast forward a couple years of struggling, and we found K9 Intuition. I was very nervous about spending even more money on training that I was unsure would work again. But at our consultation, I could immediately tell Stephano was different. Our Aussie, who is incredibly reactive especially towards other men, was barking and snarling at Stephano at the beginning. But Stephano had him walking in a heel 5 minutes later. After a couple of sessions and boarding our Aussie couldn’t wait to get to see Stephano again! The 5 step program taught my girlfriend to be leaders for our dogs. Now we can essentially walk them off leash and they stay right on our heels. Be prepared to spend a pretty penny, but it is an incredible investment if you plan to own dogs throughout your life because the program is all about teaching YOU to be a leader for your dogs, not just teaching your dogs to follow commands.

My crazy rescue would not recall and was very reactive to small dogs on walks. She now gets to run free on the beach because I am now confident she will recall. The method relies on the owners ability to learn how to send the right message and correct the right way. Pack away your ego because you may feel like a failure the first few times! Noah and Stephano have very different styles to communicate the same messages so you hear the same things in different ways. I found this very helpful.

We learned and gained so much from bringing our goldendoodle to K-9 intuition. Around the 9th-month mark, our adolescent goldendoodle started exhibiting territorial issues, including growling that slowly developed into snapping, lunging, and in one instance he bit me which led to punctured skin. After working with three different positive reinforcement dog trainers, his behavior only got worse and it came to the point that we were not comfortable to have him free in our apartment and started to use doggy gates to separate us where he would growl at us from the other side. The treat-only training only reinforced this behavior and he learned to use aggression to get what he wanted. We felt pretty hopeless and didn't have the right tools to correct him. Working with Candice, Stefano, and Noah transformed our relationship with our dog, and the sweet, goofy, and good-natured boy came back. Moreover, my wife and I are now equipped with tools and the ability to handle his behavior without leading to stress or anxiety. It was transformative for our dog and us dog owners as well. I simply cannot overstate how the training I received through K-9 Intuition transformed my dog Winston’s behavior. By teaching Me how to train him, and helping me to develop the confidence in myself that I Could train him, I feel Winston and I have a second chance!
