Extra care is considered our more dangerous "shadow" dogs as well as medically complex dogs. These dogs require more skilled staff and more cautious handling for safety. If they are "extra-care medical dog" they have more involved medical needs that require additional accommodations.
Shadow dogs go into socials on-leash walking around with a staff member acting as a supportive shadow. This is to help new dogs or dogs that need to learn the rules, boundaries, or general social skills.

The care and structure they provide is incredible. Ive owned 2 hard dogs and they have helped me navigate how to manage their behavior appropriately. I got to see so many lives change over the years and I am grateful to have been apart of that.
The staff keeps the place clean and safe for everyone. Their classes and trainings are fun and helpful. I wouldnt trust anyone else to care for my babies. Thank you k9!!

K9 lifeline has literally been a lifeline for us! We have one dog who struggles with reactivity and this is the only place we feel comfortable taking her for daycare and boarding. The staff are very well trained and treat the dogs with care and respect. I know when I take our dogs there they will be met with dignity and non judgement and be kept safe.
The dog training here is incredibly helpful, useful and effective. With the combination of the handling skills and their special designed leash I feel very confident in my ability to keep control of my reactive dog while walking her without fear and anxiety.
I don’t know what we would do without the support of training and support staff.

The staff members are pros who take their craft seriously and love our dogs like their own. Our oldest dog (now eight) literally went home with one of their senior trainers for initial training before coming to our home. Just got our dog Bam Bam (65lb lab mix) back from their 4 day/3 night training. Two days into their at-home continuing training that is included in the package and there’s such a difference that I feel like they bodyswitched him with a much calmer dog that is in tune with ME, not every squirrel in the neighborhood. Their methods make sense, it’s not a bunch of commands, collars, and routines. It’s a simple leash-based program designed to control the energy of the pack and your home. After adopting Bam at 14 months old from the SLC shelter, and 4 months living in the shelter with no record of his past, we wanted to make sure he had the best foundation for success in our home and the world. We could tell he wanted to do the right thing but we weren’t speaking the same language. K9 gave us a common language to speak to start our relationship strong. Shoutout to ALL the trainers, esp Katie, they went out of their way to tell us how much they enjoyed working with him. You can tell they care and they love what they do.
