FirstBarkMy dog Jack did so well with the training he received at K9Mania! I was hesitant at first to leave him for the program duration, however the results were well worth it! The staff were great, esp. his trainer Maritza, and he accomplished more than I expected. I received correspondence often as to what was content was being focused on, and how he was doing. This was the best gift I gave to my Jack!

How long does each dog training session last?
Our session are anywhere from 40 to 60 min depending on the dog. We spend a great deal of time analyzing the problem behaviors and your goals (nipping, biting, barking, resource guarding, etc.). From there, we determine a training program that will outline how many sessions are needed. Each session after the initial will last roughly 1 hour depending on your dog’s ability that day and what is being taught. Remember: you as an owner, must be fully invested in this learning process to get the results you want!

Do you use treats to train dogs?
Yes, we are balanced trainers — which means that we don’t adhere to one specific method. We work with your dog to find out what motivates them. One size does not fit all — dogs are unique in their likes and dislikes, just like humans. Some dogs aren’t very food motivated, and prefer play, toys, praise, etc. This is especially important when fixing undesirable behavior like running off and being at risk of getting run over.

At K9 Mania Dog Training, 100% of our focus is on you and your dog and your unique situation. We address behavioral problems from a holistic standpoint, whether that’s barking, nipping, separation anxiety, or something else. We identify and work through behavioral and environmental issues in your everyday environment and in a setting where we can control when to introduce other distractions (i.e. other dogs, people, children, etc.). Group classes are not ideal for addressing these issues since they often come with many distractions, other dogs with behavioral issues or one trainer for multiple dogs.

How long will it take to train my dog?
Every dog is different with unique behavioral issues that can affect the length of time it would take to train them. Quick-fixes and shortcuts can potentially do more harm than good. That’s why we work closely with your dog and you to make sure that you know what to expect. With the right amount of commitment, consistency, and effort, your dog should make steady progress that will last a lifetime. No more pulling on the leash or barking at other dogs. This program is without a doubt, the best I’ve taken part in. I’ve tried a few other training programs in the past but none were as effective as this one. They give you everything you need to succeed, from equipment and educational material to real time over the phone support for any training happening outside of the sessions. Our trainer, Evan, was not only a true professional in his craft but welcoming, personable and reassuring. Whatever we needed, he was there for us. He made sure we absolutely knew what we were teaching to our dog, Koda, as well as making sure we as the owners knew how to be effective trainers as well. Jaime was the best She really taught us how to tame Barney because he needed a lot of discipline. We work with him everyday and he gets better and better.

I came to K9 Mania after going to a different dog training facility that was a complete failure. I didn't have much hope, but I was desperate to help my dog Hawk with his reactivity issue towards other dogs. Jaime really empowered me to be the best trainer I could be for my dog. My confidence went from zero to a ten! Hawk just wants to please me so once we began learning how to work together, consistency and praise when he was doing what was expected of him became key. I see a happier dog, and I couldn't be more pleased as we continue to make progress together. We hope to go on some of the group walks, which would have been impossible before. Jaime also praised me when she saw improvement in Hawk, and that meant a lot for my confidence. I wholeheartedly recommend Jaime and K9 Mania.
