K9 Off Leash

By far the best dog training/boarding facility in Miami area. The owner is a genuine dog lover and the place is designed with so much attention to detail. It’s clean, comfortable, the play area is absolutely beautiful and stimulating, with lot’s of toys and activities for the dogs. It’s constantly being cleaned and they have 24/7 surveillance off all the areas. I have a Belgian malinois who is very high energy and without their help would have been unmanageable, and she’s an absolute angel now. The staff is friendly and professional and photos and videos of the dogs are available while boarding.

I have never written a review for a service provider previously, but my experience with K9 Off Leash was so exceptional that I thought others would benefit from hearing about it. Our 15-month old Bearded Collie, Jagger, is the sweetest dog, but had two behaviorial issues that created problems for us--(1) resource guarding and (2) barking (others referred to him as an "enthusiastic greeter"!). Positive reinforcement alone had not changed him. Laura and her team at K9 Off Leash have a 4-week program that rebuilt the fundamentals of clicker and leash training/commands, but added the element that we had not employed--consequences of unacceptable behavior with an e-collar. We were a bit anxious about "shocking" our dog, but instead the collar provides mild impulses that "surprise" him when he is doing something he shouldn't. In a classic Pavlovian way, he developed a conditioned response that if he grabs something inappropriately (whether a stray sock on the floor or parmesan cheese on a counter), he now avoids it or lets it go. As remarkably, prior to his time at K9 Off Leash Jagger was a headache in our building or on the boardwalk as he passed other dogs, wanting to play but when frustrated, would pull and bark (not aggressively but just noisily). Now, he still is incredibly friendly with other dogs, but is silent and when those dogs' owners don't want to engage, Jagger just moves on. My wife and I had the most enjoyable brunch this weekend at an outdoor cafe, and as dogs passed, Jagger stayed patiently next to us until we let him know it was ok to say hello. In other words, we have control of our dog rather than the other way around. Thank you Laura and the wonderful team at K9 Off Leash. I enthusiastically recommend their service to anyone in Miami!

I HIGHLY recommend K9 to any animal lover for training and/or boarding. I LOVE K9....when I got my puppy I knew I wanted her professionally trained. On top of that, I travel frequently and needed a reliable place where I could board my dog when necessary. I interviewed and visited places and K9 was the most impressive. Very clean which was very important to me! When I have traveled in the past, I am usually very concerned about my animals getting enough attention and what they need. I never worry which gives me a lot of peace. The training program is EXTREMELY effective! Now K9 feels like family!
