While I don’t live in California I have had a couple virtual training sessions with K9 Optima. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and is excellent at gleaning information from me (the client) about my dog(s) and the issues we were having at the time. He also was very helpful finding someone local that I can call to help with my new puppy. I do wish that he were closer as I trust him wholeheartedly when it comes to my dogs and their training needs.
I would love to have my puppy board and train with him for may reasons but mostly because I know my puppy would thrive and actually learn things like play etiquette, socialization and would be in a completely safe and happy environment.
I highly recommend K9 Optima regardless of whether you are in California or able to work with him virtually.

My team and I love the work that Josh does as a trainer and advocate for shelter dogs in the Bay Area. We were able to connect and transfer 5 dogs from Antioch Animal Shelter to our shelter in the North State. Thank you Josh for putting in the effort, building the bridges and serving the homeless pet population.

If a case is too hard for me and more behavioral I will ALWAYS send them here instead! Professional, kind, and I can only hope to be as good as him one day! I have personally worked with him and he does everything potato make it understandable for the client as well as helping the dogs.

I've followed Josh since Waffles was a baby! I've owned a Bull Terrier and two Jack Russells. Josh has taught me how to see from the dogs perspective. How to work with reactive dogs. My life with a stubborn terrier has vastly improved! Thank you from our hearts!

Josh is a complete professional when it comes to dog training... he's worked with all types of dogs and I didn't think he'd be able to help my 5 year old reactive Belgian Malinois... he did help and gave me the proper tools I needed to have a successful and happy working relationship with both my Mals... he was always available by phone, too, in the event of any emergencies that came up (and some did)...
