K9 Proving Ground

I adopted my first German Shepherd in 2017, had no idea what to expect.. I had no experience with the breed, so professional training was a must! I contacted K9 Proving Ground and scheduled a meet and greet with Alex. He has a special talent, my dog immediately bonded with him.. Alex was extremely professional, and knew exactly what he was doing. I saw such an improvement in my dog & I even gained a better understanding on how to communicate and train my dog.. Sherry, Alex’s wife, is extremely knowledgeable in dog nutrition, I’ve gone to her for advice multiple times when I found out my dog was allergic to certain proteins.. Will always recommend them to anyone looking for a clean & professional facility to board or train their dogs! I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my Shepherd :)

If i could give 6 stars i would. We started going to K9 Proving ground when our Rotti puppy was only 10 weeks old, starting with their puppy training classes. My boyfriend and I immediately felt comfortable with their training style and their one on one "what are we working on today" class share. We were taught HOW to train our dog while we were not in class instead of expecting them to do it for us. They helped with his Sit & Stay and other dog meet dog interaction and especially his potty training. We were told to follow a strict crate training method since our little pee pot wasn't adapting well to full rein of the house. We felt so bad leaving him in the crate but I listened to what Alex said and I set specific alarms on my phone and in 2 weeks he was letting us know when he needed to go outside. granted he will still have some accidents, he is still a puppy, consistency is key. While i didn't pay for potty training one on one in the end it all comes down to sticking with a time frame and not letting your feelings get in the way of your dogs training. I now board Jax with them when we go away and go back for special training with them whenever we have free time.
