I am beyond happy with my experience at K9 Sensei! Rick is absolutely incredible. I booked a private lesson for my dog, who is reactive and struggles with socialization, and I was truly blown away by how quickly Rick and Zach were able to help her. Within the first 30 minutes, I saw instant progress and it was absolutely amazing to watch her not only follow their commands but also interact calmly and positively with other dogs. Their expertise and genuine love for what they do is so obvious! You can tell they truly care about the dogs they work with and are passionate about helping them succeed. I am so so so excited to continue working with them and can already tell this is going to be a life changing experience for both me and my dog. After spending tons of time researching trainers and places, I can definitely say I made the best choice. I absolutely would recommend K9 Sensei to everyone!!

I’m extremely disappointed with the training service my Labrador puppy received back in November. After sending him for training, he came back with no improvement at all. In fact, he forgot everything I had already taught him at home. They put a prong collar on him, which not only didn’t help with his pulling but actually made it worse. He now pulls even more and jumps on everyone—dogs and people included. The socialization aspect was poorly handled, and it’s clear they didn’t put in the necessary effort. I would not recommend this service to anyone looking for effective puppy training. **edit: I appreciate your detailed response, but I’d like to clarify a few things. Yes, I brought Theo to your facility last October for the two-week board and train. While I responded positively to the pictures and videos you shared during that time (because, like any owner, I wanted to believe the process was working), the reality I experienced once I brought him home was very different. From the moment of pick-up, he was not responsive to the commands you had supposedly taught him—even when you tried to demonstrate them yourself, he completely ignored you. You physically forced him into the commands while telling me this was normal and that he just needed time to decompress. But as a paying client, I expected a solid training foundation after two weeks of professional care—not excuses, not deflection. I also want to address your comment about him being unneutered. Theo was only 5–6 months old at the time of training—nobody neuters a 5-month-old Labrador. His vet specifically advised waiting until at least 12 to 18 months to neuter him, which is common for large breeds to allow proper growth and joint development. He’s still not neutered, but his behavior has remained exactly the same as it was back then—so blaming the lack of results on the fact that he wasn’t neutered is just not valid. Neutering has nothing to do with the fact that he came home with zero improvement on the specific behaviors we discussed, like leash pulling and jumping. I didn’t reach out right away because I genuinely gave it time, stayed consistent with the work, and followed your advice—including the prong collar you recommended. But the longer I worked with him, the clearer it became that the training had not been effective. The core issues I specifically paid you to address were not improved at all—in fact, they got worse. This isn’t about Labs being high-energy or slow to mature—I knew that when I signed up. It’s about paying for a service that promised results or at least noticeable progress, and receiving neither. Offering a free follow-up session doesn’t undo the fact that the foundational training was unsuccessful. I’m not interested in continuing further sessions. I’ve lost confidence in your methods, and I stand by my review based on my honest experience.

I can’t thank Rick enough or recommend him more! I adopted my first dog, a wonderful rescue, and while things were great at first, about 4 months in she suddenly became extremely reactive. Walks became a nightmare, and I often left in tears, feeling like I had tried everything but nothing was working. Then we found Rick, and everything changed. Within two lessons, I saw huge improvements, and after a couple more, my dog was calmly laying near other dogs—something I never thought I’d see. Rick is not only an amazing trainer but also a genuinely kind person who truly cares. He was honest and didn’t try to upsell us on extra sessions when he felt we were ready. Now, I can walk my dog in busy areas with confidence. She’s calm, responsive, and walks beautifully on a loose leash. I’ve never seen such a dramatic turnaround, and I owe it all to Rick!
