I love how they understand shelter dogs, as well as their approach to training (no punishment/negative training). What areas do you serve?
We’re located in downtown Ferndale and serve the surrounding metro Detroit area. For our Day Training service, we work within a 5-mile radius of our facility.

What training methods do you use?
We use positive reinforcement and science-based training methods. Our trainers are certified and follow the recommendations of the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior (AVSAB) and focus on building trust and communication between dogs and their families through kind, force-free techniques.

What is the minimum age for puppy classes?
Puppies can start classes after their first round of vaccinations and with a negative fecal test from their veterinarian. We follow AVSAB guidelines that recommend early socialization before puppies are fully vaccinated in order to prevent future behavior issues that can come from lack of proper socialization during these developmental windows.

Do you work with reactive dogs?
Absolutely! We specialize in helping reactive dogs through our structured program that includes online foundations, in-person classes, and practice sessions. We have both indoor and outdoor reactive classes to meet each dog’s need and comfort level.

How long are your group classes?
Most group classes are 45 minutes long - the perfect amount of time for dogs to optimize learning. Our core classes run for 6 weeks and electives run weekly for 4 weeks.

I’d recommend Kent to anyone looking for help with a rescue dog!!!! They have been so supportive and helpful, even providing us with resources and articles to learn more. When we had an unexpected setback in training, they quickly offered to set up a call with us to discuss and it helped so much!! So worth it and I look forward to attending their group classes as well 😊

My experience with K9 Turbo Training has been nothing short of amazing. We adopted our dog Ollie in December, after losing our dog of 15 years about six month's prior. He came to us a ball of anxiety and nerves, and we felt the same! Learning a to communicate with him seemed so overwhelming, as he was so shut down. Our trainer Allison, not only helped to build his confidence but our bond together grew immensely as the weeks went by. I learned how to read him, understand him better and each week we saw him come out of his shell little by little. Thank you Allison and team for helping us give Ollie another shot at happiness!
