K9Aholics Dog Training

We had an amazing experience with K9aholics! We enrolled our rescue dog, Petey, in their 4-week training program (5 days a week), and it exceeded our expectations. From the very beginning, Cam made the enrollment process incredibly easy and was so helpful in getting everything set up. Throughout the program, all of the trainers—including Mikayla, Acacia, and the rest of the team—were friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about Petey's success. One of our favorite parts was receiving a daily report card with updates on how Petey was doing, along with photos and videos. It was so reassuring to see his progress each day. At the end of every week, we had a lesson with homework so we could continue reinforcing everything he was learning at home, which made a huge difference. Drop-off and pick-up were always quick and seamless, and everyone was welcoming every single day. You can tell this team truly loves what they do and wants every dog to succeed. We're so thankful for everything K9aholics did for Petey and would recommend them to anyone looking for quality dog training.

In my experience I would not recommend them. I wish I read more reviews prior. I opted for the 4 week training for my 2 dogs. Halo my recently adopted pit, and Deebo my Black lab mix. Halo is dog selective, and reacts to other pups on walks. Deebo the lover of all and wants to run to people and pups to play and get loves. So walking them is a challenge, hence why they needed training. I want my kids to be able to walk them and have control over them so no one gets hurt. Right now I am the only one who can walk them, and I have to walk them one at a time. First couple of weeks were great. I did notice on the weekends when I would practice with them that every time I would get the slip lead Deebo would run to his bed, I would let him stay there because that is his safe space. By the 3rd week Deebo had given a employee a warning bite as they called it. If you knew my pup Deebo he would NEVER but he did none the less. So he had to stay home that day, but I still took Halo. So I bring her home and later that night my daughter noticed blood on her collar. So I took her collar off and noticed 2 holes the size of the prong collar we were taught to use that day. I the messaged one of the employees advising her of what I noticed. I am one that if I didn't see it with my own eyes I can't point fingers, but know for a fact it didn't occur at my home. I was advised to look for snakes in my area. I have lived in my house for 15 years and NEVER seen not 1 snake. They called me and I said the same to them, I can't say how it happened but I am making you aware because she had only been here and there that day. I haven't even taken the pronged collars out of there packaging, and didn't walk them that day. I then messaged the owner advising him that I would not be returning because I don't feel comfortable leaving my pups there anymore. So for 3 weeks of training and 3,000 dollars Halo knows place and stay, and Deebo knows place he already knew sit and stay. Worth it.... No. Sure it's good basics to have but Halo is just as reactive to dogs as she was when we started, and Deebo is scared to death of a slip lead. I will continue to train my pups. I suggest educating yourself on the things your dog struggles on and having time and patience training with them. After this experience if I decide on hiring another trainer I will hire one to come to my home. I will never leave my dogs alone with anyone else ever again. Please learn from my mistakes, plus pay very close attention to your dogs cues. Had I paid attention to Deebo's reaction to the slip lead earlier Halo wouldnt have gotten holes in her neck.

Day one from picking up Maeve, who was reactive to all dogs, we had two great walks with no incident. Her confidence has increased. Now we are 5 days out and have only had one incident that needed correction. We had two other small incidents with minor correction, even with dogs provoking her. The training has been an incredible game changer for improved quality of life for all of us. It is important for the owners to be trained as well, so we can help with being consistent to help our fur babies along. I highly recommend K9aholics Dog Training as they are amazing to work with. They provided daily report cards during the 3-week stay, which I could share with my daughter and mother. We looked forward to the report cards and updates. K9aholics staff are well versed in training and helpful for any questions. In fact I texted Kat on a question and she responded quickly to help us continue to move forward in a positive way. This was the best investment for our family!

This is the best thing I couldve ever done for not only me, but my puppy Vegas as well. Hes was an anxious boy, and is so much more calm and confident. We tried the positive reinforcement places in the area, but because he was prone to growling at strangers and is a German Shepherd/Malinois mix, many of the trainers were afraid of him. Here no one showed any fear, as they are used to all kinds of dogs. Some of the dogs they train are very aggressive or reactive and some are excited labs who pull on the leash. They have seen it all. Vegas is now very neutral with strangers and actually loves our friends and family. His leash walking is impeccable, and he has learned so many commands that will help me take him back to work with me such as place and extended sits. He learned the value of strangers through working with multiple different trainers rather than one person he would just get used to. They do training in real world environments to teach focus, such as going to pet stores or open fields. Your purchase (at least for the 6 week day train I did) comes with 2 free followup sessions, where training can continue after the 6 weeks is over and you dog has a chance to settle into every day life. You also get a private lesson with them every week for the 6 weeks. The trainers were super helpful and always reachable. 10/10 would recommend this to everyone!
