Julie is highly skilled and knowledgeable in training. She is responsive, and understands the challenges that are involved with training a puppy. We completed the private in home puppy class, and learned the foundations we needed. When we adopted our puppy she was ill, and lost some time socializing in the community. We continue to foster that process, with new health challenges of neurological disorder, that Dorothy faces. We are so grateful for Julie’s direction, and will continue “our” learning process , as Dorothy can tolerate.

We were at a breaking point with our 2-year-old cockapoo, Pearl, when we reached out to Julie. Although Pearl is generally loving and very smart, she would become reactive and even bite us when we tried to brush her teeth, clip her nails, and engage in other critical grooming and handling tasks. Other problem behaviors included barking at passersby and jumping up on visitors. What Pearl needed was positive reinforcement behavioral training in cooperative care (handling and grooming) and impulse control. We signed up for six in-home sessions and were impressed by Julie's organization and professionalism and her ability to bond with Pearl immediately. Julie provided lesson materials and helpful videos for the weekly topics and sent weekly reports following each session that summarized the topics covered and the behaviors we needed to work on that week. After six sessions with Julie and working with Pearl on a daily basis we have noticed a huge change in Pearl’s behavior: She is calmer, is gradually becoming more open to basic grooming tasks, enjoys training and playing games with us, and most importantly, has learned to trust us. We're working on the barking and jumping up, but the behaviors are becoming less frequent. We’re confident that the knowledge and tools Julie provided will make us better dog guardians now that we know what Pearl needs. Many thanks, Julie!

Julie was the best trainer I could have asked for. She was patient kind and caring for both me and my dog. I had a lot of different things that I wanted to work on with my dog from riding in car to basic manners to separation anxiety. Julie laid out our lessons where each one added on to the next and started slow but my dog learned each one quickly and easily. It is all positive training with rewards and never any punishment for the dog. She gave me all the lessons and videos to keep working on.
