Kindred Souls Canine Training Center

I have to disagree with gary as well. My wife has had 3 dobermans and our first dog together was a boxer. We went to kindred souls from a reference at a dog park and I couldn't have been happier with our decision. I respect petes knowledge immensely and how even after completing basic, intermediate, CGC and Therapy over 8 months ago, I am still able to call and email pete with questions and he responds enthusiastically and in a timely manner. I would like to find a place that maintains contact and provides free information 8 months after you finish going there. He trains the dog owners not the dogs which is how it should be, he also is quick to chastise you if you do not follow his teachings which he can tell the following week. Like anything it takes time, patience and the ability to follow instructions. You can't expect to go there an hour a week and do none of the assigned homework and expect your dog to listen. It is on the owner not the trainer and not the dog.

I totally disagree w/Mr. Mizenko's review below. I am presently training my fourth dog at Kindred Souls. I started taking classes there in 1998 and although I have to travel 35 minutes to get there....it is so worth the drive. Prior to finding Kindred Souls I had trained at a few facilities closer to my home but no one can match Pete Campione and his understanding of dog behavior and the dog psyche. Pete is an exceptionally skilled dog trainer and knows how to impart his knowledge to his students. However, there is no magic to dog training. You have to be willing to follow Pete's graduated, step-by-step approach to altering you dog's behavior and you have to do your homework to reinforce what is taught in class. Showing up once a week for an hour will not produce the results you are looking for. I have done Basic Obedience, Intermediate Obedience, Rally and Agility classes at Kindred Souls and have always been thrilled with the friendly and professional atmosphere created by Pete and his entire staff. I highly recommend this center to anyone who wants a well-trained dog either as a wonderful companion or a competitive show dog.

I have had a great opportunity to attend many classes offered at this warm and friendly establishment. I am very impressed with the trainers and their amazing dogs. From the moment I entered their doors, I felt a warm and professional atmosphere. The wealth of knowledge they offer is priceless . Since I have been the owner of many different breeds of dogs I feel it is imperative to work closely with your pet. There is so much to consider and so much to learn. This is the place I would highly recommend for all.

I am not really sure why anyone would want to go to this dog training school. The basic obedience class is a joke. The goal of the class is to teach people how to train their dog and take control of the situation. The trainer is not qualified to train people. This class is basically false advertising. You would be better off reading how to train your dog on line. The trainer doesn't understand that the dog owners and dogs are there because they need help. He trains to the most behaved dog not to the dog/owner team that needs the most work. If I as a teacher was to train to the best student and not the rest of the class I would not have a job for very long.
