My daughter had an emergency situation with her 2 young chihuahuas. She needed to be out of her apartment because of barking complaints and only had a few days to do it. She also had airline tickets purchased for a work trip and could not cancel. We determined this was the perfect time to get the dogs in training. My daughter found K9 online and called him (I believe his name was Nick). He came over, determined he was able to work with them and we set it up that they would be boarded/trained with Nick for 2 weeks for $3,000.00. My daughters flight was cancelled (due to hurricanes) from Alabama so her Aunt and I decided to have the dogs returned to us rather than inconveniencing Nick. Because she didn’t get all the training techniques first hand she tried to reach out to Nick for help. She did NOT expect this for free. But Nick refused to answer, acknowledge her or return phone calls. He was sure quick to take $3,000 from a young girl (21), but didn’t have the common decency or professionalism to fall through as he assured all of us he would do. He finally responded today with a rude “find someone else”. If his problem was small dogs I wish he would have been honest upfront and not taken the job. But I suspect it’s more a personal thing which I find even more despicable.

Our dog completed a 14 day board and train program. We were impressed with the results as we have a very stubborn alpha pitty pup. Milton came home with improved behavior across all facets. He walks without pulling and doesn't react to other dogs or people. He also learned basic commands, which we were struggling with prior to this because of Milton's stubbornness. The biggest difference is the ability for us to eat a meal or cook in the kitchen without having the dog constantly jumping on counters or tables because of the incorporation of the climb bed and command. I should note that these are all examples of byproduct of the training and our biggest take away is our own understanding of how to manage our dog in an effective way in our day to day life. We understand how to interact with him in a way that incorporates his needs and fun while maintaining clear behavioral boundaries. Understand that this is not a service where you turn your dog in to get trained and then you're done and go on with life as usual. Nick lays the foundation but the hard work begins at home after the training to build on what has already been established. As veteran pet parents with prior obedience class and other training knowledge (this is our 3rd dog, 1st board and train) we highly recommend this! Nick is dedicated and knowledgeable and was in daily communication with us while Milton was with him. He took his time during the go home lesson to make sure we were comfortable with everything! He continued checking in with us after completion of training and always made himself available for questions. This is a highly worth while investment.
