Kodiak K9 Training

We had a great experience with our puppy. We traveled for vacation so decided to use Kodiak K9 for our puppy bootcamp Ellie and her family were amazing. We received videos and pics almost every day. And on the drop off day a nice walk through commands. I had to make sure she was my puppy because she was so calm and I I didn’t even though she was super excited to see us. Can’t recommend them enough.

Brad was incredible with our young, male Belgium Malinois. After just two weeks, you could see significant progress in his impulse control and responsiveness to the e-collar in a variety of situations. Brad really took the time to understand his quirks and the typical situations we find ourselves in, like being at sports practices and outdoor events. He was able to work with him in these kind of environments. All around his behavior on the leash and self-control around new people, other dogs, etc. has allowed us to enjoy having him out in public. I really appreciated the time Brad took to “train” us (the humans) on what our dog needs to be at his best, good commands, how to effectively use the eCollar and what we need to do regularly to build on and continue reinforcing good habits. We really appreciated Brad’s communication with regular updates, photos and videos to see his progress. This is our second dog to go with Kodiak K9 and we wouldn’t go anywhere else.

After 2 weeks with Ellie, our 18 month old Labrador retriever learned a lot. The counter surfing and trash can exploring completely stopped. His behavior with jumping and walks was also much better. Ellie taught us all the commands and expectations so that we could continue working with him in he same manner to enforce the same training. Ellie communicated with us daily with updates, photos and videos. Although we missed him during the training period, knowing he was in a loving and safe family home made the time go fast. He is still the same loving and goofy dog.

We used Kodiak K9s three-week board and train program for our dog Archer to work on, amongst other things, his dog reactivity and anxiety in public. First, we really appreciated the fact that Kodiak K9 took the time to speak with us and discuss what we were looking for. Not only did Corey take significant time to hear us out but especially Jake and his family, to whom Archie was assigned. On top of that, actually tailoring aspects of their approach to Archie's specific nuances and our goals was something we really appreciated. In our experience, using a generic playbook for every dog was something we experienced with several trainers and largely failed, esp. with things like reactivity, so we really appreciated hearing us out and tailoring to him on top of their experience and general approach. Jake and his family were great to Archie. On top of taking ample time to meet and speak with us, we were abroad for 2 of the 3 weeks and Jake and his wife worked with us to keep us updated. We also appreciated the continual support and willingness to continually support after the initial board and train. Archie came out better than he went in and we can confidentially say a few months on now that he's better for it and we have the tools and techniques we need to be successful working with him moving forward. These positives speak to Kodiak K9s sincerity in how they approach training - I'm not one to write reviews of any kind I think this is the first time ever - but they absolutely deserve it. We did a 3 week board and train with Luis. We had been experiencing increased reactivity on leash and bolting, and other generally bad behaviors…. With Luis, we received daily updates and photos/video. I was also able to ask questions and he was very responsive. We have continued to work on Pike’s training at home and it’s like he’s a new dog. We take him everywhere with us now, confident that we can manage him around other people and dogs. Highly highly recommend!!
