Jeff is the only dog trainer I would recommend. He’s also the only one I’d use again, but because he is so good you only have to use him once, even for future dogs. He works with the dog so the dog knows what is being asked, and then trains you to train the dog, all in the same session. If your dog catches onto something quickly he still goes through the information of what to do if your dog wouldn’t be doing something correctly back home or in new environments. This can also be passed to future dogs; he says it right in his training. Even after training is done he’s always available, for free, to phone calls or texts to troubleshoot. He mentioned to us he had someone recently reach out to him needing help and he had trained their dog 9 years ago. He truly is available no matter the length of time. He is very knowledgeable and passes so much of his knowledge onto you. He explains the why behind everything he demonstrates or teaches you. He is up front and honest. You can tell from the first time meeting him the passion he has for training dogs. He has trained dogs for ski patrol, military and law enforcement jobs, your basic pet and so much more. We took the civilian training for pet obedience and control. It didn’t matter that it was civilian training, he had as much passion into training our dog as he does a dog for a working job. He is truly an expert and doesn’t make you feel like you are any less for coming with a dog jumping, pulling and so many other negative behaviors. He personalizes the training to what your life looks like. If you want your dog cleaning up after a child is done eating, he cheers you on and says yeah train them to do that! We had a 10 month old puppy that we brought to him and she is a completely different dog/puppy at the end. We know how to continue to train her to get the well mannered, obedient family dog we are looking for. It may cost more than group puppy classes but that’s because you get his knowledge, skills and passion one on one. You also finish with a dog that’s much better at the end of 6 weeks. Training continues on and it’s never done, but it’s nice knowing he’s available if things come up. It was well worth what he charges, he could honestly charge more but I think it’s because he’s so passionate he doesn’t. He has decades of experience and training with e-collars. Don’t be turned away by e-collar training, it was the nicest and most humane e-collar training and education I’ve heard. You really are using it to communicate with your dog, just like you might tap a person on the shoulder to get their attention. I feel like I could go on and on but if you haven’t gotten that Jeff is an amazing dog trainer, then I can’t help you any further, but Jeff probably could!

Jeff at Lakeshore Canine Training is phenomenal! He recently trained our nine-month-old Mini Bernedoodle, Herzi and the results are amazing. Jeff's extensive years of experience and high skill set are evident, but what truly sets him apart is his genuine passion for the job and his deep love for the animals. We are seeing amazing outcome following 6 weeks of training! The obedience and skill training is top-tier, but the real value is that it trains the owner/handler to continue with consistency at home. If you stick with it, the results are incredible. My puppy is doing extremely well with all training items, including sit, long stays, loose leash walking and the long lead recall is amazing. Jeff worked directly on all the problems that were important to me around the home—including counter surfing, jumping, and eating bark—while ensuring my puppy mastered the "leave it" command as needed. The absolute best training my dog and I has been through. After my Belgian went through many weeks of training at a different place I was left with an anxious dog that I had no idea how to work with, and wasn't taught how to properly handle this amazing breed. I was told about Lakeshore K9 training called up Jeff and the rest is history. He walked me through how to handle my high energy dog. He explained things so well to me and answered all my questions. He gave me the tools to work with my dog. He would show me how to do it properly, and then help critique working with my dog. He is thorough and takes great pride in his training. I would have still been frustrated working with my dog if I didn't hear about Jeff. I'm so grateful for his training techniques and giving visuals and walking me through working with my dog. I would still be at a loss with this breed if I didn't call Jeff. Thank you Jeff, I will forever be sending dog owners your way for training.

I don’t usually do google reviews but I must this time. My whole view of owning a dog has changed. I always thought the well behaved dogs of others had to be “special” and easy to train. I learned the training was evenly divided between Maisie (German Sheperd) and myself. Jeff explained and portrayed the training in an extremely easy to understand way. His continual reinforcement, encouragement and direction resulted in a successful session. Each and every week. Our nine month old Maisie is a new girl. I have more confidence and feel more self-assured. Because of our great experience, we are taking our five year old German Shepherd Max, who was trained at another trainer, for the same classes we did with Maisie. If you want an enjoyable relationship with your dog and have confidence on a daily basis with your dog then I highly, 100% recommend Jeff, as I have every chance I get since we started.
