Lakeshore K9 Training

Honestly can’t say enough good about Lakeshore K9. Frankly I’m not one to leave reviews, instead I just end up frequenting my favorite places/businesses to support them. That said, Jeff definitely earned my review. We took our GSD puppy here for the 6 week basic obedience class. After completing the class a few weeks ago, we have noticed sustained results and have learned new ways to enjoy our pup. Importantly, my wife and I chose Lakeshore K9 predominately because of the training regimen. We felt that we got more out of learning to work our own dog with Jeff’s guidance and lessons rather then shipping him off to a place where they train the dog for you and then give you a crash course when you pick him up. We felt the program was very easy to understand and implement at home. Without trying to brag, we frequently get compliments on the behavior of our GSD in a variety of environments and we owe it all to Jeff at Lakeshore K9. As our puppy develops into a adolescent and into an adult we look forward to returning to Lakeshore K9 in the future to train on scent work. Definitely recommend.

We have a very energetic German Shepherd and took him to a well known Grand Rapids training facility for initial puppy training and had a poor experience. We contacted Jeff at Lakeshore K9 Training because of a referral from a friend and during our first session we quickly knew we were working with a professional. It was a night and day difference in comparison to the previous "trainer" we worked with. Do not skimp when it comes to training. As long as you do your homework as instructed, you will have excellent results. On top of the valuable training, Jeff is friendly and personable. Lakeshore is worth every penny!

My husband and I have a two year old GSD and we were having many issues with this dog. We went through three different trainers before reaching out to Jeff at Lakeshore K9 Training! I was out of hope of this dog listening and being well behaved dog. I was told that GSD are easy to train and I was having a heck of a time. Until we met with Jeff! The first session I was hopeless. I was for sure that this wasn't going to help. However, I was wrong. Jeff is amazing and we should have called and paid the money the first time we started training with our GSD. With in a few sessions I was able to get our dog to sit, down and stay in the house and after the six weeks I am able to get him in the house without chasing him around the yard. Paying for this training with Jeff has changed my life for sure. Jeff has reminded me it's a process and it won't happen over night and it's constant work! If we ever get another dog rather a GSD or other breed we will be calling Jeff right away for training! If you have a working breed get a hold of Jeff he's amazing!

We had a great training experience with Jeff. He taught us about obedience and control. Our puppy showed improvement after the first session. After completing 6 sessions we have a well trained dog and it’s reassuring to know that Jeff is available for questions and/or concerns even after the sessions are completed. Jeff teaches with a positive attitude. He thoroughly explains his techniques and taught us how to train and work with our dog. He is confident in his techniques and a true professional. We highly recommend him. Truly, he is the best.
