LA’s Dog Trainer

We enrolled in Jacqueline's (LA's Dog Trainer!) Introductory Classes for our two Mini Sheepadoodle puppies this summer and we were thrilled with the class and the results. Jacqueline clearly knows her way around ALL animals - but she specializes in dogs and puppies. She handled our two little pups with the utmost in care - but also gave them both a solid foundation on which to build for future training and classes. Training for all puppies is a continuous process... and we're looking forward to more exciting and fun classes with Jacqueline and her team - she truly IS "LA's Dog Trainer"!

We just had our first private, in-home session with Jacqueline, and it went great! We recently brought home a new 4-month-old puppy into a household with a spoiled 13-year-old dog. Life at home is very different now with their opposite personalities, and after a few behavioral issues, we knew it was time to bring in a specialist. We are so happy we picked Jackie. She taught us how to properly control and correct those difficult moments. We will definitely be signing up for more sessions, as we were extremely pleased with everything we learned in just one hour. Our priority is making sure both dogs are happy together, as they bring so much joy to our family.

David, Howie and the rest of the crew have been absolute angels. I was struggling, having a 1 year old puppy and a 15.5 year old I’d had since college. So I did some research and came across “Obedience, Please!” I was thrilled! I had been joking that, in honor of Taylor swift, we were going to do a “Life of a Showdog” film once I got her trained. So to find out Howie trained dogs for show biz back in the day?! What a dream. Being part boarder collie, the training was much more difficult than I had previously been hoping for on my own. Despite (and maybe because of) her incredible intelligence, she also has a tremendous amount of energy, and love to give. With my chronic condition it was just becoming too much. She’s been in the program for seven weeks, has taken a huge liking to David and behaves beautifully with him. I’m nervous to have her on my own but she just graduated today and I am so much more confident! She listens like spring and she talks like June, my sweet baby angel. I’ve been singing to her “she’s a maniac” but swapped it out with “brainiac” all afternoon: lovin’ it. We have already been practicing the commands at home and plan to be diligent about continuing education. Thank you, David, for your hard work, determination and diligence with her training. You clearly care very much about this work and these dogs. Aphrodite has seen great improvement since I first dropped her off and I couldn’t be more grateful. Our puppy has attended puppy great start class, puppy socialization and most recently beginner's tricks class. We've had great experiences with all classes with both Jacqueline and Jo Anne at la's dog trainer. The tricks class with Jo Anne was particularly great as it helped us build a training relationship with our puppy in a fun way and the tricks ended up being a bonus to a more well behaved pup. We appreciate all the help and guidance and looking forward to our next class as we work towards our pup's CGC. Highly recommend this company and it's trainers. Thank you!

Jacqueline is an awesome trainer and her programs are so much fun for both dogs and their humans. Leia has taken Beginning and Intermediate Obedience in the park and Leia and Chewie have both gone to Puppy Socials at the studio. We are currently working on taking the CGC - Canine Good Citizen test for Leia. I like the option of lessoning in the park where there are more distractions for the dogs. It's also nice that the dogs can mingle before or after class (I've been to another trainer where all the dogs were petitioned off and cannot see one another). Her class is easy to follow and I love how at the start of each class, she asks how everything is going and if there's something specific that people need help with. If there is, then we'll start with that, if not, then we do a quick review and start to learn something new. Time goes by in her classes because we are all having fun! If you have a dog that is not ready to be with a group of dogs, you can still attend! She'll have you and your dog be further away from the group so you can still see/learn. I have seen my friend's dog, Max, go from a dog that just barks the entire time in the parking lot to a trained puppy in the main group! Her methods work and they work right away, but you do have to keep practicing with your four-legged friend. You can't expect to go to her classes once a week and have your dog trained. At Puppy Socials at the studio, there are two groups, one for small dogs and one for bigger dogs. She and her assistant will monitor the dogs and make sure that they are not being too aggressive or teach the shy puppies how to make their way out to shine (and they do after taking a couple of Puppy Social sessions!). You can also session private socials with just a couple dogs in the studio. Jacqueline loves animals and has extensive knowledge of them. She always puts the animal first. She has degrees in Exotic Animal Training, Animal Behavior Management, Wildlife Education & Sociology. She's very flexible with scheduling and will help make timing work for her clients. I highly recommend Jacqueline and LA Dog's Trainer to everyone!
