Lazy Acres Dog Training

Lazy Acres is the best place to train your dog! Rebecca is incredibly knowledgeable and understanding and helps owners make a deeper connection with their dog and open a line of respect between the two to have a better relationship! Just in the few sessions I’ve had with my dog, I have seen such incredible changes! I love that the program doesn’t use treats or prong collars and you are truly one with your furry friend! I also am very anxious in group settings and have struggled to focus and learn in other dog training scenarios and I feel incredible comfortable and confident during our sessions which I appreciate so much! I look forward to doing more lessons with Rebecca at Lazy Acres and see the growth my dog goes through!

This is easily the BEST training program we’ve truly ever done. After each session with Rebecca we leave with huge smiles on our face because we’ve 1) not had to use treats to teach behaviors 2) seen the exact behavior we wanted during training 3) learned *sustainable* training methods to keep practicing and 4) our pup is not only getting it, she seems totally relaxed learning. Our dog Sunny is a GSD/Mal and went through the standard positive reinforcement treat training programs as a puppy, but she’s about to turn two and we wanted a deeper respect and relationship with her. She’s crazy smart as expected and when we were researching programs to change up the training we had been doing with her before, Lazy Acres stood out immensely just with the foundational principles. In training, we’ve learned so many tactics to curb impulse and re-engage Sunny with us. Rebecca has been amazing in understanding Sunny’s breed and truly listening to the things we need to work on with her. After only the first session Sunny could walk on a loose leash for daily walks - something we literally spent the first year and a half of her life using treats to try and do! We also wanted to work on greetings as Sunny loves humans (a little too much) and would jump on everyone she could say hi too. Again, after just the first lesson we were able to have her successfully greeting people she saw regularly on four paws- and have the tools to re-engage her and get focus back on us for new people. Can’t say enough good things about Rebecca and Lazy Acres Dog Training, we’re literally so happy to have found this place. We actively recommend for anyone and their pup!

We got a heeler/border collie puppy who, despite thinking that we were good at dog training and using every method we could find online, had never properly heeled before. She always pulled on the leash, even if there were treats right in her face. After one session of the drills, our little girl was being respectful and walking next to us with no treats whatsoever. After only a few days of drills, I noticed she started focusing on US more on walks, rather than focusing on the treats (which we were no longer using). It was amazing! Rebecca was super responsive when I first reached out to her, getting back to me even on a weekend. She was professional and clear in her instructions, and she was kind in her critiques of how we were doing the drills. She gave us effective tools to help with our puppy’s reactivity to dogs and people, which I didn’t find anywhere else online. Everyone just says give more treats, and that never worked for us. With Rebecca’s methods it’s all about focused body language to foster a good relationship between our dog and us, which we much prefer over hyper-stimulating treats all day long. While our 5-month-old puppy is not perfect yet by any means, she is much better and we feel confident that as she gets older and we keep using the drills, she’ll get to where we want her to be.
