do you have any recomendations for trainers who can help w bigger dogs from the shelter? trying to get them leash trained and basic manners so they can get adopted. some of them have been there too long! Please if you know of any
Hello, thank you for the message. We train all sizes. At this time we don’t have the personnel to train pro bono to help dogs get adopted. With that said we donate and support the Delaware Humane Society on a monthly basis. It is a goal of our company to help train dogs in the shelters to help get adopted but we are just not there yet. Recently a german shepard was added to our home. She is 4 years old and great with people. She has attacked one of our other dogs unprovoked 3 times. Will Training get her to stop? The other dog is much smaller and I don't want her hurt.

We recently signed up our 2 year old frenchie Beau in the two week program with hopes to correct some behavioral issues since the website states this is their specialty, we were unfortunately disappointed. From drop off we didn’t have the best interactions with Josh one of the main trainers. We were swayed to this training facility due to the e-mail and phone support along with social media updates promised throughout the program and this was seriously lacking. On the third day after us reaching out for some sort of update on Beau, we were met with a rude response that there wouldn’t be any updates until the second week of training. There after any sort of update was sent only when requested or sporadically through Instagram with no emails sent. We came in with the hope Beau would learn how to walk on a leash without displaying reactivity with other dogs, that doesn’t seem like it was even worked on and based on our discussion when picking him up only 1 day was scheduled for leash training out of the 14 days he was there and this was our biggest priority. It seems the only outcome from this training is we purchased a stem collar and he learned to sit on his cot while toys are tossed around the room. This wasn’t a life changing experience by any means. He still has attention seeking behavior, jumping up, none of these issues were touched on so to say we are dissatisfied is an understatement. They request you to be prepared for an in depth 1-2 hour review of Training tools and transfer of information upon pickup which is just a glorified explanation on how the stem collar itself works. No information on how to work with Beau after leaving the program or taking time to show us how to correctly run through the commands we spent thousands of dollars on with him. Only when asked for a sheet of the commands learned, we were given a sticky note with 5 commands, no explanation on how or when to use these. We reached out to Lead the way 2 weeks after coming home with Beau hoping to bring him back in to work with us and him on his walking ability and we were told June would not work with them due to it being “their busiest month” so we inquired about July, met with another this month would not work due to it being “their busiest month”. At this point we were passed from Josh to Brittany to deal with our request to finally come in August due to us moving out of state and was told a date but she was unsure of the time and would let us know closer to the date. We once again had to reach out for any information and was told this conversation was never had and once again told August would not work since it is “their busiest month”. They have given us the run around for months and quite frankly these issues should have been addressed during the two week training. Do not waste your money on this program besides learning basic commands there is not much to the program itself and better off ordering a stem collar yourself since that is truly all it is.

We sent our (almost) 6 month old puppy for board and train and felt worried with how young she was….and we worried for no reason! From the moment we called, Josh answered the phone, emailed, was out front when we arrived. Brittany answered questions at pick up, explained training that made it easy to transition to at home, and clearly knew about our Poppy. The fact that the owners are so hands on, and care so much, says a lot about this business. Truly family owned and put their time and energy into caring for your pets. Between the Instagram posts/highlights/PDFs emailed, we never worried about her care, and she is a much more confident pup. We’ve already signed her up for boarding again!
We have been entrusting our dog to Josh and Brittany and their incredible staff since 2021 for Didgeridoo’s initial week-long training and since then for boarding. Today we picked him up after boarding and a wonderful, fresh grooming from Amber. We are grateful for the professional and loving care our dog receives each time he visits.
